These audiences were invited to watch the acrobatic drama "Battle of Shanghai" performed for three consecutive performances to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Shanghai.
In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Shanghai, from May 19th to 21st, a special viewing performance of the acrobatic drama "Battle of Shanghai" hosted by the Shanghai Military Support Foundation and supported by the Bank of Shanghai was staged at the Shanghai Cultural Plaza. Representatives of the special care recipients and troops stationed in Shanghai were specially invited. The whole play consists of 8 chapters: "Prologue, bloody battle on the periphery, stubborn resistance, outsmarting intelligence, fighting in dark alleys, youth oath, iron bones attack, flying through the rainy night, welcoming the dawn, and the epilogue". It takes the Battle of Shanghai during the Liberation War as its history. The background artistically reproduces the heroic deeds of the People's Liberation Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the liberation of Shanghai with the assistance of Shanghai's underground party organizations and the people.
The play truly shows the heroic struggle of the People's Liberation Army in the battle to liberate Shanghai. It not only depicts the war scenes on the city's main battlefields, but also tells the touching story of underground party organizations protecting important urban facilities such as power plants and crushing enemy conspiracies. In the play, the heroine Bai Lan, in order to smash the enemy's conspiracy to destroy the power plant, obtained intelligence according to the instructions of her superiors, and cleverly dealt with the enemy agents, successfully sending the intelligence to the frontline headquarters of the People's Liberation Army. After receiving the information sent by Bai Lan, the command headquarters dispatched the hero Jiang Hua to lead a commando team to cross the Suzhou River and raid the power plant; Bai Lan and Jiang Hua, college lovers, met again and fought side by side in the battle to defend the power plant.
