The torch relay of the Hangzhou Asian Games will start on the 8th in Hangzhou
On the morning of September 6th, the theme press conference for the torch relay of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou was held at the main media center of the Hangzhou Asian Games. The conference introduced the overall arrangement of the torch relay work for the Hangzhou Asian Games, the basic information of the torchbearers, the highlights of the relay route cities, and the safety guarantee situation during the torch relay operation stage of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Du Zuofeng, Deputy Commander of the Torch Relay Command Center for the Hangzhou Asian Games, stated at the press conference that after nearly three months of coordinated planning and careful preparation, all aspects of the torch relay work have been prepared. The opening ceremony of the torch relay for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou will be held on the morning of September 8th at the Yongjin Park Square in West Lake, Hangzhou. Afterwards, the torch of the Hangzhou Asian Games will be passed on successively in Huzhou, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Ningbo, Zhoushan, Taizhou, Wenzhou, Lishui, Jinhua, and Quzhou. It will return to Hangzhou on September 20th and complete its final relay stop.
The torch relay of the Hangzhou Asian Games continues the theme slogan of "Heart to Heart Integration, @ Future", and 2022 torchbearers will participate in the entire relay process. The selection of torch bearers for the Hangzhou Asian Games fully considers the universality of sources, the representativeness of characters, and the fairness of selection, covering outstanding athletes, coaches, and other sports workers, as well as various types of advanced representatives in various fields such as the model of the times, loyal defenders, moral models, model worker, and "the most beautiful people", who have made outstanding contributions to the Hangzhou Asian Games. The youngest torchbearer is 14 years old, and the oldest is 84 years old. There are 732 female representatives, 1219 grassroots frontline representatives, 1069 representatives of advanced and exemplary figures, 275 representatives of sports workers, and a certain number of representatives from ethnic minorities, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan compatriots, and disabled people serving as torchbearers.
Adhering to the concept of "green, intelligent, thrifty, and civilized" in organizing the Hangzhou Asian Games, the planning of the torch relay route for this Asian Games focuses on simplicity and moderate scale. The formulation of the torch relay route first follows the conventions of international competitions, and is also an excellent opportunity to reflect the development of Zhejiang. In the process of formulating transmission routes, various regions have always focused on the provincial brand of "Poetry and Painting in Jiangnan, Vibrant Zhejiang", striving to highlight the "Zhejiang flavor" and "cultural and tourism flavor". For example, the "Splendid and bustling New Paradise Line" in Hangzhou mainly revolves around the urban development trajectory from the "West Lake era" to the "Qiantang River era", from the dazzling dawn of Liangzhu civilization, to the sunny and rainy Xizi Lake, and then to the bustling Qiantang River, vividly reflecting Hangzhou's urban positioning as a "historical and cultural city, a city of innovation and vitality, and an ecological civilization city".
The transmission routes in other cities also have their own characteristics. For example, Jiaxing's "Red Boat Leading the Way to Build a Dream of the Future", Ningbo's "Sailing World on the Coast of Ningbo", Wenzhou's "Millennium Happy Wenzhou", Lishui's "Xiushan Lishui Youth City", and so on, all focus on the excellent style, historical culture, natural scenery, and other aspects of each city, each with its own bright spots and splendid scenery.
