Affected by typhoon "Du Suri", heavy to rainstorm weather occurred in Beijing Railway Administration of China since 7:00 on July 29. The rainfall mainly concentrated in Handan, Shexian, Shijiazhuang, Yangquan, Qinghecheng, Bazhou, Baoding, Tianjin, Beijing and other regions, and mainly affected many lines such as Handan Changsha, Shijiazhuang Taiyuan, Shijiazhuang Taiyuan passenger dedicated line, Beijing Guangzhou, Beijing Kowloon, Beijing Yuan, Fengsha, Tianjin Bazhong, etc.
In order to reduce the impact of heavy rainfall on passenger travel, China Railway Beijing Bureau has strengthened train operation organization, and cadres and staff at all levels are stationed at the front line of station, train, and line security to provide safe and high-quality service guarantees for passenger travel. On July 30th, the railway department temporarily suspended trains on the S2, S5, S6 and other lines of the Beijing suburban railway, as well as trains from Beijing West to Laiyuan K5295, from Beijing Fengtai to Handan C227, from Beijing Fengtai to Xiamen North D745, and from Beijing West to Dajian 6437. Passengers who have purchased tickets for discontinued trains can apply for a full refund within 30 days and promptly follow the information on China Railway 12306 website or station announcements to arrange their travel properly.
Affected by heavy rainfall, on July 30th, there were train delays on the Beijing Kowloon, Fengsha, Hanchang, Shitai and other railway lines. Beijing West Railway Station stated that the railway department will closely monitor weather changes and train operation order, strengthen the verification of dispatch orders, timely release train operation information, and help passengers prepare and arrange for travel. Beijing West Station has also formed a Party and Youth League member assault team and a logistics service team, focusing on supporting key locations such as the entrance, waiting area, and platform, replenishing emergency supplies such as mineral water, food, and medicine, and ensuring smooth and orderly passenger transportation at the station. Beijing South Station has opened enough ticket windows to patiently answer passengers' inquiries, facilitating ticket refunds and changes. At the same time, information is released through official Weibo, on-site broadcasting, and other channels to facilitate passengers to obtain travel information in a timely manner.
The Beijing High Speed Rail Engineering Section immediately activated an orange rain warning, and arranged 45 people to be on 24-hour watch over 15 key flood control areas within its jurisdiction, including the Beijing Tianjin intercity railway, the Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway, the Beijing Guangzhou high-speed railway, the Tianjin Qinhuangdao high-speed railway, the Beijing Harbin high-speed railway flood bridge, the sunken tunnel, and the pumping station. Local emergency forces were actively contacted, and support personnel were prepared, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes, and other emergency rescue vehicles. The Beijing Electric Power Depot acted quickly based on the rain warning and conducted a comprehensive inspection of all flood control materials and tools in the pipeline in advance to ensure sufficient supplies and optimal conditions of tools. The flood control sandbags were placed in important areas in advance to effectively prevent the rapid rise of water levels.
According to statistics, from 7:00 on July 29th to 7:00 on July 30th, China Railway Beijing Bureau arranged a total of 183 additional trips for cadres and employees, guarded 291 key flood control areas, conducted 2565 inspections in the rain, and carried out 673 inspections on mountains and rivers after rain. Cadres and employees worked together to ensure railway transportation safety.
