Starry in Huangpu, dancing in Shencheng. On June 17th, the two-day 2023 China Sports Dance Open Series and China Sports Dance Club League opened at the Luwan Sports Stadium, attracting 119 representative teams and nearly 1500 athletes from across the country to participate.

This competition is a reunion of sports dancers and a rebirth of sports dance. After a year of absence, the flower of sports dance once again bloomed brilliantly in Huangpu, Shanghai, and officially welcomed back to offline audiences. In order to enrich the content of the competition and attract more amateur players to participate in high-level national competitions, this year's China Sports Dance Open Series has been combined with the China Sports Dance Club League for the first time, with an innovative layout and extraordinary significance.

Shanghai has been cooperating with the China Sports Dance Federation to hold competitions for 19 years. The Shanghai station is also known as a "traditional" and "old-fashioned" competition. Years of experience in organizing competitions have given Shanghai Station both the charm of traditional competitions and the inner vitality of bold innovation.

The cheerful cowboy dance, elegant waltz, and dazzling stage lighting make a national competition as standard as an international competition, allowing players to enjoy it. In 2020, the hardware facilities of the Luwan Sports Center were updated, and the competition stage design was all based on international competition standards. In December of this year, the final of the WDSF World Sports Dance Grand Prix will also be held as scheduled.

The strong return is not only due to the organizers' confidence in hosting Chinese sports dance competitions, but also the restart of the Chinese Sports Dance Open Series, which has shown the world the strong vitality and vigor of Chinese sports dance. I hope to improve the brand effectiveness of sports dance, enhance the quality of sports culture, and showcase the urban spirit of Shanghai through the holding of this competition.

WDSF holds sports dance competitions every year, with top athletes from the sports dance industry participating. Every year, WDSF selects 10 cities around the world to hold sub events in two major event groups. Only the top 12 Latin and standard dancers who rank in total points in all sub events throughout the year can participate in the final finals. In 2004, Shanghai introduced the WDSF sports dance competition for the first time as one of the global sub events of the World Sports Dance Federation. In 2005, Luwan Sports Center once again hosted the sub station competition. In 2006, the Luwan Sports Center obtained the qualification to host the finals and has been held ever since. World sports dance has found new development space in Asia.
