The Memorial Hall of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China opened in Shanghai
On June 27th, the Memorial Hall of the Former Site of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China Central Committee was opened in Jing'an District, Shanghai. This is a key project of Shanghai's implementation of the "birthplace of the Party" red culture inheritance and promotion project.
The Memorial Hall of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China consists of four parts: the restoration area of the old site, the basic exhibition area, the temporary exhibition area, and the square sculpture area, with a total exhibition area of 505 square meters. The exhibition of historical materials of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China in the basic exhibition area showcases a total of 78 pictures and 21 physical objects. Using various forms such as text, images, sculptures, and videos, the exhibition systematically introduces the origin and establishment of the work of the Party Secretary, as well as its perseverance and development under the White Terror. It showcases the special achievements of the Party Secretary's frontline workers who are loyal to their missions, deeply conceal their achievements, and have made contributions to the cause of the Party and the people.
Compared to the exhibition of historical materials on the former site of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China in June 2021, the exhibition of the memorial hall after its opening has comprehensively upgraded the visiting experience.
The first panoramic performance of the Central Library. The multimedia performance of "Central Library" on the second floor of the memorial hall uses the technique of "scene+naked eye 3D" to present several generations of guardians of the Central Library, who are willing to sacrifice their lives to fulfill their oath to the Party and pledge to defend the Central Library to the death - the heroic act of "where people are in the library, vowing to coexist and die with the library". The performance adopts the forms of "treasure map" and "group English genealogy", vividly showcasing to visitors the more than ten storage points of the Central Library in Shanghai, as well as the stories of major custodians such as Zhang Weiyi, Chen Weiren, and Xu Qiang defending the Central Library.
Upgrade the immersive visiting experience. The visiting session adopts an immersive performance+explanation format, with the explanation content being artistically processed based on loyalty to history and seeking truth from facts, providing the audience with an immersive experience. The performance revolves around the self narration and memories of the female protagonist Zhang Yuexia of this house, mainly reflecting the story of the first generation of party secretaries laying hidden and important red transportation lines with their lives. Immersive performances and explanations will be undertaken by the museum's instructors and volunteers, and will be performed irregularly within the museum.
At the event, 11 red venues located in Jing'an District, including the Memorial Hall of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China, were included in the list of "Architecture Readable" projects in Shanghai. The "Hongtu Academy" Jing'an Special Release has been launched, relying on the "Hongtu" Shanghai Red Culture Resource Information Application Platform. The project includes eight major sections: "Red Venue", "Red Route", "Red Party Class", "Red Topic", "Red Culture Co construction Project", "Red Theme Exhibition", "Red Video", and "Red Cultural and Creative", showcasing the connotation, value, and unique charm of Jing'an District's red culture in a comprehensive and three-dimensional manner.
Wang Quanchun, Vice President of the Central Party History and Literature Research Institute, Zhao Jiaming, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda, and Zhang Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, Minister of Organization and Secretary General, attended the opening ceremony.
