The Ministry of Foreign Affairs: A very dangerous provocation to seek independence, with the DPP authorities clamoring for "participation in the United Nations"
On September 5th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference.
What is the spokesperson's comment on this?
Mao Ning introduced that on October 25, 1971, the 26th United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly passed Resolution 2758, which clearly restored all rights of the People's Republic of China, recognized the representatives of the government of the People's Republic of China as the only legitimate representatives of China in the United Nations organization, and called for the expulsion of representatives of the Taiwan authorities from their illegally occupied seats.
Mao Ning said that UN Resolution 2758 not only completely resolved the issue of China's representation in the United Nations, including Taiwan, politically, legally, and procedurally, but also clarified that China only has one seat in the United Nations, and there is no issue of "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan". Since the adoption of General Assembly Resolution 2758, the United Nations, its specialized agencies, and other international and regional organizations have adhered to the provisions of this resolution. 182 countries in the world have established diplomatic relations with China based on the One China principle, which has long been recognized as a norm in international relations and a universal consensus in the international community. Any issue regarding Taiwan's participation in international organization activities must be resolved under the One China principle.
The Democratic Progressive Party's clamor for "participation in the United Nations" is essentially creating "two Chinas" and "one China, one Taiwan", attempting to challenge the international order centered on the United Nations and based on international law.
Resolution 2758 of the United Nations General Assembly is not to be challenged. The One China principle is unshakable, and the wheels of history are rolling forward. Complete reunification of China is certain to be achieved.
