News: The reporter learned from the briefing on the "Opportunities Bay Area" Guangdong themed interview activity held on June 11 that in the five years since the release of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", the total economic output of the Greater Bay Area has exceeded 14 trillion yuan, becoming one of the most promising growth poles in the world. In the future, Guangdong will make efforts in many aspects such as strategy, industry, and interconnection to support Hong Kong and Macao to better integrate into the overall national development.
It is reported that Guangdong will focus on cross-border infrastructure construction, scientific and technological innovation cooperation and other fields, actively connect with the development and construction of Hong Kong's northern metropolitan area, and Macau's "14" moderate diversification development strategy. Guangdong will consolidate Hong Kong's central position in finance, shipping, commerce and trade, and support Macau in building a world tourism and leisure center.
Zhang Hu, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, introduced that Guangdong will accelerate the establishment of a scientific research management system that effectively connects with Hong Kong, Macao and the international community, continue to promote the joint construction, use and sharing of major scientific and technological infrastructure, high-level laboratories and other innovation platforms, focus on the construction of a number of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao joint laboratories in cutting-edge advantageous fields, and work with Hong Kong and Macao to promote greater progress in scientific research.
It is reported that the "1-hour living circle" of the Greater Bay Area is accelerating. This year, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel and the Huangmaohai Cross-sea Channel are expected to be completed and opened to traffic, connecting the "bay" of the Pearl River Estuary into a "circle". This year, Guangdong is also carrying out preliminary work on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao High-speed Railway, accelerating the reconstruction and expansion of ports such as Huanggang and Shatoujiao, and at the same time making good use of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, optimizing and improving the "Hong Kong cars going north" and "Macao cars going north", and steadily promoting the "Guangdong cars going south".
Zhang Hu said that Guangdong will further improve the level of facilitation in personnel and vehicle exchanges, cargo clearance, cross-border funds, and secure data transmission, further deepen people's livelihood cooperation in the fields of education, medical care, social security, etc. in the Greater Bay Area, and promote the integration and sharing of public services.
