Sudden! Border conflict between Afghan and Pakistani forces
According to the Russian Sputnik News Agency, on September 6, the Afghan army and the Pakistani border guards clashed in the border area between the two countries near the Dorkham border port, where gunfire was heard.
According to reports, witnesses stated that the conflict has trapped thousands of civilians in the area, and civilians on both sides of the border have left their homes in an attempt to leave the dangerous area.
The report states that the Dorham border crossing is one of the three main trade and transit points between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan also uses the Dorham border port to transport its goods to Central Asia.
Previously, according to the Associated Press, on February 20th of this year, Pakistani border forces and the Afghan Taliban also engaged in cross-border fighting in Dorham. Pakistani security officials said at the time that the Taliban in Afghanistan closed the Dorham border crossing on February 19th due to Pakistan's alleged refusal to allow Afghan patients and their caregivers without travel documents to enter Pakistan for medical treatment.
