Rural revitalization has a promising future (Youth Diary)
"Moo, moo, moo..." In Gerichulu Village, Shihahe Town, Urad Middle Banner, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the crisp and pleasant sounds of cows continue to be heard. Blue topped cowsheds are magnificent, and green feeding cars shuttle through them, allowing the cows to eat leisurely and happily. As a "cattle farmer", my favorite thing to do every day is to watch the cows grow day by day.
After graduating from university in 2007, like many young people, I have been working outside, working as an accountant and in sales, but I have always had the dream of starting a business at home. In 2017, I saw in the news that my hometown was calling for the development of the cattle farming industry and the attraction of local talents to return to their hometown for entrepreneurship. This coincided with my idea of raising beef cattle, so I resigned from my accounting job in the city with good income and returned to my hometown to develop the cattle farming industry, dedicating myself to rural revitalization.
Do whatever you say. After consulting with the town government, I used my years of savings to fight for policy subsidies and built a 960 square meter cowshed. Although the farm has been built, problems have arisen one after another, catching me off guard as a novice cattle farmer. As soon as the 72 introduced Simmental cows landed, one of them died, and the other cows also experienced varying degrees of discomfort.
To die a cow means losing nearly 20000 yuan, which is not a small matter. To understand the urgent situation, I invited animal nutritionists from out of town to my cowshed to help solve the problem. At the same time, during the process of raising cattle, I learned techniques and summarized practical experience. Through several years of exploration, I have developed good skills in feed formulation, beef cattle epidemic prevention, embryo transfer, and other aspects.
In 2019, through the development model of "village party branch+association+cooperative+impoverished households", we established the beef cattle breeding association, built and improved the beef cattle breeding park, attracted 144 farmers to join our breeding professional cooperative, drove the village collective to increase income and farmers to become rich, and enabled more and more people to rely on cattle farming to become rich.
At the same time, I will also impart my years of accumulated cattle farming skills to the beef cattle farmers around Shihahe Town free of charge, helping them improve their cattle breeds, formula feed, and expand the market, leading my parents and fellow villagers to embark on the road to prosperity together.
In November 2021, I was fortunate enough to be elected as the President of the Town Beef Cattle Breeding Association. Along the way, what impressed me the most was that a person's abilities are very weak. Only by working together can we have a long-term development path and walk the path of rural revitalization well. Nowadays, the beef cattle breeding professional cooperative I founded has grown from over 70 cows to over 460 cows, with an annual profit of nearly one million yuan. At the end of last year, a total of 144 households and 233 people received a dividend of 143000 yuan, with an average increase of 993 yuan in household income, driving surrounding farmers to jointly embark on the path of increasing income and becoming prosperous.
For future development, I believe it is necessary to fully leverage the role of party organizations and party members in industrial development, guide nearby farmers to unite, further develop local cattle fattening and breeding technologies, continuously improve the village collective economy's "blood making" function, lead farmers to increase income and become rich, and paint a beautiful life picture.
