When Li Qiang arrived at the Halim high-speed railway station, he was warmly welcomed by employees from China and Indonesia. Li Qiang listened to the report on the construction of the Yawan high-speed railway and expressed appreciation for the arduous efforts made by the builders of both countries. Both sides should implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, carefully prepare for various aspects, ensure the high standard opening and high-quality operation of high-speed rail, and inject strong and lasting momentum into the modernization construction of Indonesia and the region.
Li Qiang then took the Yawan high-speed railway and inspected the construction of the Karawang station platform. He said that high-speed rail paves a path of integration, openness, and common prosperity. It not only shortens the spatial and temporal distance between cities, but also drives the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, empowering the economic development along the line. The Chinese side is willing to share mature experiences with Indonesia and work together to promote the development of high-speed rail industry and cities.
Li Qiang pointed out that China and Indonesia have strong economic complementarity and enormous potential for pragmatic cooperation. Both sides should make persistent efforts to continue to take the lead in the high-quality cooperation of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" in the region, promote the construction of a community of shared future between China and Indonesia to a new level, and contribute to the well-being of the two peoples and regional development and prosperity.
Wu Zhenglong and others participated in the above activities.
The Jakarta Bandung high-speed railway connects the Indonesian capital Jakarta and the fourth largest city Bandung, with a total length of 142 kilometers and a designed maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is the first time that China's high-speed railway has landed overseas with a full system, all elements, and a full industry chain. It is invested, constructed, and operated by the Sino Indonesian high-speed railway company jointly established by China and Indonesia.
