Establishing a "Green Channel" System in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions in China to Ensure the Enrollment of Students with Economic Difficulties
CCTV News: Currently, there is less than a month left until the deadline for applying for student loans this year. The National Funding Management Center of the Ministry of Education reminds students from economically disadvantaged families that they have not yet applied or their applications have not been approved, so there is no need to worry. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, ordinary higher education institutions in China must establish a "green channel" system, and new students with financial difficulties must register and complete the enrollment procedures first.
China University of Mining and Technology has applied for national student loans, with over 600 students from economically disadvantaged families, accounting for about a quarter of the total number of undergraduate students. At the scene of new students reporting at Shahe Campus, the reporter saw that the Green Channel was set up everywhere in various departmental newspapers. In the "Letter to Green Channel Enrolled Students" distributed to students, it detailed the financial assistance projects that new students from financially disadvantaged families can obtain.
The list of love gift packages includes a prepaid campus card worth 300 yuan, a love gift package worth 500 yuan, bedding worth 500 yuan, and a love textbook worth 500 yuan. The staff explained that due to early declaration, there is no need for on-site authentication and filling out procedures. After electronic registration, the assisted freshmen can directly receive the funding materials.
Qilu University of Technology has welcomed over 8000 new students this year, and the green channel is also set up in a prominent position. On site, there are also assistance policy consultation offices, student loan business processing offices, and heartwarming gift package distribution offices, providing students with one-stop services.
