Ensure air transportation safety! China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airport Public Security conducted a simulation exercise
Recently, a simulation and disposal drill for a "plane crash" incident jointly conducted by China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airport Public Security Bureau under the guidance of the East China Civil Aviation Administration Public Security Bureau is underway. In the simulated cabin, a drunken man with a flushed face and stumbling steps suddenly stood up and walked to the front seat to sit down as the flight was about to launch. When the flight crew requested him to return to his seat, he not only refused with a bad attitude, but also threatened with verbal violence. When surrounding passengers condemn them, they become emotionally agitated and intend to attack other passengers, causing chaos in the cabin order. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to dissuade, the safety officer of China Eastern Airlines on the flight took decisive action in accordance with the "plane disturbance" incident handling procedures. At the same time, the captain of the flight immediately contacted the airport police to "board" and handle the situation. After two police officers arrived at the scene and collected evidence, the perpetrator was taken off the plane by the police
It is reported that this drill will be conducted through a combination of tabletop simulation and practical exercises. The practical exercise section drew inspiration from typical examples of real civil aviation "aircraft disturbance" incidents: during the simulated aircraft ground waiting period, passengers on board occupied seats and affected the normal order of the flight. The crew members controlled and collected evidence from the "aircraft disturbance" perpetrators according to the procedure, and transferred them to the public security organs in accordance with the law.
"Through the form of drills, we can strengthen the practical adaptation of crew members and police officers, improve the efficiency and ability to deal with 'aircraft disturbance' incidents, and better safeguard the safe travel of passengers," said an onboard safety officer from China Eastern Airlines' air security management department who participated in this drill.

"Aircraft disturbance" incidents can disrupt normal cabin order, affect the focus and judgment of flight crew, and some incidents can also cause flight delays, returns, and alternate landings, not only affecting the normal travel of other passengers, but also threatening aviation safety. At present, the domestic civil aviation industry is on a steady path of recovery. In order to firmly curb the frequent occurrence of aircraft accidents, the Civil Aviation Administration of China deployed a special action in July this year to "lawfully rectify aircraft accidents and maintain aviation safety and order.".
According to the deployment and requirements of the special action of the Civil Aviation Administration of China to rectify and maintain aviation order in accordance with the law, the Shanghai Airport Public Security Bureau has implemented the requirements of cracking down on illegal and criminal acts of "aircraft disturbance" in accordance with the law, and has produced a fast disposal package to rectify "aircraft disturbance", shortening the time for video evidence retrieval and improving the efficiency of legal document production.
China Eastern Airlines focuses on "improving institutional guarantees," "strengthening disposal capabilities," and "promoting publicity and education," and continues to deepen and implement special actions. As of now, China Eastern Airlines has completed training to strengthen its ability to handle aircraft accidents among more than 11000 flight attendants. From regular training to specialized seminars, from strengthening internal cooperation to deepening public security joint rectification, China Eastern Airlines continuously improves the level of handling and transfer efficiency of onboard incidents, minimizing the impact of flight operations.
