Let everyone's "road home" be full of poetry... The second Minhang District Urban Furniture Creative Design Competition officially launched
"Home" is everyone's spiritual harbor and spiritual sustenance, and "the way home" is a common scene in everyone's happy life. How can we make the "way home" of people in the city full of poetry?
On June 16, the second "Gumei Cup" Minhang District Urban Furniture Creative Design Competition was officially launched. The organizer took the proposition of "The Road Home" which is rich in cultural heritage, philosophical connotation and imagination space as the design scene to attract contestants to participate in the competition and design excellent urban furniture scenes, arranging a road of life, a road of happiness and a road of happiness that reflects the temperature of the city, has a fashionable style and a sense of fireworks, and gathers 15 minutes of community life services.
It is reported that from October 2022 to February 2023, the first urban furniture design competition in China hosted and organized by grassroots streets, the first "Gumei Cup" Minhang District Urban Furniture Creative Design Competition, was successfully held in Gumei Road Street. The competition, with the theme of "Urban furniture makes life warmer", brought together the government, enterprises, universities and communities to participate, attracting widespread attention from the industry and society.
Reshaping the connotation of urban furniture and satisfying people's yearning for a better life - thus, Gumei Road Street initiated a series of innovative thinking and practices with the theme of "community renewal driven by urban furniture design".
In July 2023, the cultural corridor with the theme of "Walking 50 meters, reading 5,000 years - the history of the development of Chinese urban furniture" was completed, which clearly sorted out the development context of Chinese urban furniture, displayed horse hitching posts, drum stones, stone talismans, stone lanterns, etc., and told the long history of urban furniture...
Today, the street has achieved the perfect integration of "park city furniture", built China's first urban furniture theme park, 130 excellent works have been put into operation, and plans to build a museum-style urban furniture park covering the entire area. Over the past three years, three community parks have been upgraded, 10 pocket parks have been renovated, 76 new art pieces have been built, and 35 community micro-renewal design activities have been carried out. At the same time, the street has also built the "No. 1 Furniture Valley" industrial park, which has successfully attracted a number of upstream and downstream enterprises in the urban furniture design industry, with an occupancy rate of over 90%, and a preliminary gathering of emerging industries.
In the process of continuously meeting the cultural needs of the people, the street also pays special attention to people-oriented, strives to practice whole-process people's democracy, and fully mobilizes the enthusiasm and participation of community residents.
The second "Gumei Cup" competition launched today will carry out a series of "one competition and six seasons" activities, namely the Urban Furniture Creative Design Competition and the Roaming Season, Creative Season, Renewal Season, Forum Season, Art Season, and Harvest Season. The competition invites domestic and foreign art and design industry-related individuals or institutions, students and other design talents to show their creativity and talents, making "the way home" a topic of discussion among different groups of people and people of different nationalities.
In the next six months, 23 activities will be staged in turn, including Citywalk, urban furniture creative exchange, "French Designers Entering the Gumei Community" micro-renewal co-creation activity, "Urban Furniture and New Quality Productivity" forum, exhibition of outstanding works of the competition, urban furniture industry promotion conference, art market, joint exhibition of paintings by Chinese and foreign artists, participation in the Shanghai "World Design Capital" conference display, "World Cities Day", etc., forming a "Citizen Art Life Festival" full of fashion and fireworks.
At today's launching ceremony, Gumei Road Subdistrict also released "Urban Renewal Driven by Urban Furniture Design - Practical Reflections of the First "Gumei Cup" Competition", and held the "Gumei Urban Furniture Forum". At the forum, a group of judges and guests, including Liu Guanzhong, a first-class domestic master and "Father of Chinese Industrial Design", exchanged and shared their views on the two major themes of "Poetic and Romantic Urban Furniture and Life Aesthetics" and "Future-oriented Urban Furniture Industry Innovation", and conducted interactive Q&A with the designers off the stage.
During this year's competition, Liu Guanzhong will join hands with seven domestic design experts, including Zhao Jian, He Xiaoyou, Han Ting, Xu Jiang, Cheng Xuesong, Hu Renmao and Ding Wei, to serve as judges for the competition, bringing about more collisions of ideas.
In the future, the "Gumei Urban Furniture Forum" will serve as a permanent forum, regularly inviting governments, universities, enterprises, experts and scholars to discuss topics such as creative design, industrial development, cooperation and exchange, and through forums, conferences, annual meetings and other forms, it will inject more new energy and new paths into promoting the development of the urban furniture industry.
