ASTANA, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Uzbek President Mirziyoyev in Astana on the afternoon of July 3 local time before attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
Xi Jinping pointed out that in January this year, you successfully paid a state visit to China. We unanimously decided to upgrade China-Uzbekistan relations to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, and to build a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from a higher starting point. The development of bilateral relations has entered a new stage. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. China is accelerating the promotion of Chinese-style modernization, and Uzbekistan is also comprehensively promoting the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy. Our goal is grand and simple, which is to make our people live a better life. China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to promote the high-quality development of China-Uzbekistan relations with the destiny of the country in mind and the well-being of the people in mind.
Xi Jinping stressed that China firmly supports Uzbekistan in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty and security, and is a reliable friend and partner of Uzbekistan. The two sides should deepen cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road", implement the medium- and long-term cooperation plan in economy, trade and investment, accelerate the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, as well as cooperation in photovoltaic, wind power, new energy vehicles and other fields, and continue to strengthen cooperation in poverty reduction and social governance. China supports expanding exchanges between the two countries in the fields of local, tourism, education and other fields, and welcomes Uzbekistan to participate in the 7th China International Import Expo as the guest of honor. China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to accelerate the implementation of the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Xi'an Summit, strengthen coordination and cooperation, and ensure that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization always develops in a direction that is in the common interests of all parties.

Mirziyoyev said that in January this year, we jointly announced in Beijing that the bilateral relations would be upgraded to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, which opened a new era for Uzbekistan-China relations. Under the wise leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has successfully responded to various risks and challenges and achieved world-leading achievements in the fields of economy, science and technology. The Uzbek side firmly adheres to the one-China principle and resolutely combats the "three forces".
