YOUNG Theater celebrates Children's Day, "Monkey King" performs in Huaguo Mountain, and Xiaohe sings nursery rhymes
On June 1st, YOUNG Theater actively responded to the social aesthetic education work, opened the theater to small children and "old children", and held the "Sounds of Mountains and Rivers·June 1st Open Day". On the stage, musician Xiaohe led the children's song concert "The Land of Hearing", and the string puppet non-hereditary performed the shadow puppet show "Children of Huaguo Mountain, Practice!" ", unique family carnival performances accompany parents and children to celebrate Children's Day.
In 2016, musician Xiaohe launched the music and art accompaniment charity program "Echo Children's Day" for special children, using music, art, handicrafts, body movements, drama, picture books, stories and other forms to accompany children through the days of love and fun. Children's Day. In June 2023, the special project of the 8th Echo Children's Festival "Two Flavors of Folklore" was staged at the YOUNG Theater. Artists used sincere performances to share folk songs and ancient nursery rhymes with the audience that touched people's hearts.
This year, the "Echo Children's Day Special Project" has reached its ninth edition. Xiaohe and YOUNG Theater once again joined hands to present two concerts with the theme of "Hearable Land": On May 31, Folk Night, Xiaohe invited Wa Yina, Anaïs Martin, Luo Sirong and many other musicians sang folk songs from different lands. On the nursery rhyme night on June 1st, Xiaohe and the Rhyme Searching Project Band will perform "nursery rhymes with the memory of the land" found over the past six years.
In the YOUNG Theater Small Theater, Hong Jindiao, the intangible cultural inheritor of Shenzhen Puppet Art Theater, presented the shadow puppet show "Children of Huaguo Mountain, Practice!" ", from the perspective of the monkey children in Huaguo Mountain, it introduces the experience of the stone monkey in "Journey to the West" until Sun Wukong was crushed on Wuzhishan. It returns to "Journey to the West" to explore the origin of how to grow into a "human", and tells the personal significance of the name "Sun Wukong". and the meaning of family.

Starting on the morning of Children’s Day, YOUNG Theater will present a variety of exciting art activities such as public art installations, workshops, exhibitions, and pop-up performances inside and outside the theater space.
The "Adventure Island" painted art installation is a large-scale open art co-creation project of this open day. The artists brought color and imagination to the square based on children and natural elements. In the "Adventure Island" with four geometric space themes, Encourage children to join in the co-creation. The "Poems of Love" workshop encourages children to express themselves boldly and creatively. The "Recycle and Renovate" old objects recycling workshop leads children to look at the waste in life from a new perspective. Hong Jindiao will bring his puppet works to the YOUNG Theater Square on the afternoon of June 1, leading the public to appreciate the subtleties of traditional puppet art up close with a flash mob performance.
The theater space will welcome two high-quality children's painting exhibitions. The first "Meipu Painting" Children's Art Works Exhibition jointly organized by Pudong Art Museum and the British Tate Museum toured the YOUNG Theater. The theme of the exhibition "My View of the Future City" is based on environmental protection, ocean, thinking, harmony, space and home. topic to encourage children to boldly imagine the future city. The "Rise Up, Let the World See" eye-loving and eye-protecting painting science exhibition organized by Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Control Center will popularize myopia prevention, eye care, healthy lifestyle, etc. on the third floor of the theater.
The theater open day is supported by a number of charity partners. Shanghai Chunhua Qiushi Charity Foundation, which cares about needy students, lonely elderly people and other vulnerable groups, will bring the "Western Student Aid Plan" to the theater for interaction.
