Macron: I will never resign under any circumstances
According to the Russian Satellite News Agency on June 11, French President Macron said in an interview with Le Figaro that he would not resign regardless of the results of the early National Assembly elections.
According to reports, a reporter from Le Figaro asked if the far-right National League party would ask the president to resign if it won the National Assembly election. Macron responded: "The Constitution was not made by the National Alliance. Regardless of the outcome of the election, the status of the legislative body is certain, as is the status of the president. For me, this is inviolable."
According to reports, some media reported earlier on the 11th, citing sources, that Macron was discussing the feasibility of resigning with people around him.
As the French ruling party's support rate was far lower than that of far-right parties in the European Parliament elections that ended on the 9th, Macron announced the dissolution of the National Assembly on the evening of the 9th and held a new National Assembly election.
The five-year European Parliament election will be held from the 6th to the 9th. Most EU member states, including France, will vote on the 9th. French voters will vote for 81 European Parliament members representing France. According to the latest exit poll results released by multiple French media on the evening of the 9th, the far-right National Alliance received 31.7% of the votes, ranking first among French political parties; the ruling Ennahda Party received 14.9% of the votes, ranking second.
