The largest C919 model makes its debut! China Eastern Airlines Appears at the 2023 Bund Conference
On September 7th, the C919 model, the world's largest domestically produced large aircraft with repainted livery, made its debut at the China Eastern Airlines booth at the 2023 Inclusion · Bund Conference technology exhibition. The reporter learned that at this heavyweight conference with the theme of "Technology · Creating a Sustainable Future", China Eastern Airlines will also send domestic aircraft technology experts to the exhibition booth to introduce the design concept, aircraft configuration, cabin characteristics, and other content of the C919 aircraft. The popular service robot "Dongdong" from China Eastern Airlines will also make its debut at the exhibition booth to welcome guests.
As the largest main base airline in Shanghai, the China Eastern Airlines booth is located in the technology exhibition area, aiming to immerse and scenario based ways for visitors to experience the new possibilities of promoting aviation travel with the city, industry, and life through digital technology.
At the center of the China Eastern Airlines booth, a C919 large passenger aircraft model with a length of about 3.8 meters and a wingspan of 3.5 meters is particularly eye-catching. China Eastern Airlines is the world's first user of domestically produced large aircraft C919. This 1:10 scale C919 model is printed with the "World's First" China Seal and "B-919A" aircraft numbers on the front and rear sides of the fuselage, respectively, highly reproducing the appearance spray painting style of the world's first delivered C919 large passenger aircraft. China Eastern Airlines has also specially designed a blue sky and white clouds background wall and an airport runway scene for it.
The C919 is China's first self-developed jet mainline passenger aircraft with independent intellectual property rights in accordance with international airworthiness standards. Through comprehensive cooperation, full participation, and full effort, China Eastern Airlines received the world's first delivered C919 from COMAC in December 2022 and put it into commercial flight in May 2023. China Eastern Airlines is committed to high-quality operation of domestically produced large aircraft, aiming to achieve safety, ambition, brand, and efficiency. As of September this year, the two C919 aircraft it has received will operate daily on the "Shanghai Chengdu Express" flight between Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.
During the 3-day exhibition period, visitors can not only check-in, take photos, and take photos with this C919 model to their heart's content, but also embark on an exploratory journey towards the C919 through booth displays and introductions from domestic aircraft technology experts.

China Eastern Airlines also brought the intelligent passenger service robot "Dongdong", which can speak, sing, and answer questions, to the exhibition site. Dongdong, which looks like a cylinder in appearance, wears a blue uniform from China Eastern Airlines, and wears a name tag of a ground attendant, is an intelligent robot that was first applied in civil aviation passenger service scenarios in China. It integrates multiple technologies such as human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet. Since its "debut" in the high-end check-in area of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in August 2017, "Dongdong" has now been "on duty" at two airports in Shanghai, Xiaoshan in Hangzhou, Jiaodong in Qingdao, Zhongchuan in Lanzhou, and other destinations of the East Base. It can answer common questions for passengers, such as "How do I check in?" "Can I bring my power bank on the plane?" "Which boarding gate is the flight at?" It can also guide passengers to check in, check flight status, scan and identify their ID cards/boarding passes, and act as a translator. By continuously optimizing and upgrading in real passenger service scenarios, the "Dongdong" robot has been iteratively updated to the third generation, gradually adding functions such as check-in and China Unicom 95530 customer service platform.
In recent years, China Eastern Airlines has successively launched intelligent service products such as "air rail intermodal transportation" and "one-step delivery" to optimize and enhance the travel experience of passengers; We are also innovating and applying technologies such as facial recognition, RFID baggage tracking system, and big data analysis at important domestic hub airports to upgrade smart travel. China Eastern Airlines stated that it will continue to serve the high-quality development of the city in the future, and is committed to building itself into a super carrier of air transportation through the implementation path of "smart aviation". This will provide strong support for composing a new chapter of civil aviation as a transportation powerhouse and building a Shanghai International Shipping Center, better meeting the air travel needs of the people for a better life.
