They will spend five years performing Beethoven's nine symphonies, a four handed marathon, and a four handed marathon
There are still five years left until the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death in 2027, and the "Xue Shi Yuan Bo" group composed of young pianists Chen Xueyuan and Liu Shibo will start a five-year marathon from now on, performing Beethoven's nine symphonies in the form of four hand ensemble. This marathon was launched by Yaokang Culture, and in addition to Beethoven's nine symphonies, they will also perform the overture of "Egmont" and "The Grand Duke" of the Seventh Piano Trio. On April 22nd, the first stop of the first season was held at the Ningbo Cultural Square Grand Theater, and on July 2nd, it will be held at the Shanghai Daning Theater.
Four handed ensemble is a form of piano performance in which two people and four hands play a complete piece of music on the keyboard. Compared to solo, four handed ensemble not only emphasizes versatile playing techniques, but also requires both players to achieve a high degree of unity in rhythm and emotional expression. Although there are not many works of four handed ammunition, its unique artistic charm and rich expressive power are loved by the audience.

All four handed ammunition versions of the works in this exhibition were adapted by Chelny. As a proud disciple of Beethoven, Cherny began learning the piano with Beethoven at the age of 10. During this period, he excellently adapted some of Beethoven's chamber or symphonic works into solo or four handed piano versions, and received Beethoven's supervision and guidance. Chelny spared no effort in adapting and transmitting Beethoven's works, allowing these works to be more widely circulated.
The adapted version of Beethoven's Symphony Tour Four Handed Piano Concert, released by Yaokang Culture, is the first time this version has been exhibited in China. In addition, the "Xueshi Yuanbo" group also plans to publish the world's first set of recordings and publish supporting scores for the first time in China based on the "first edition original manuscript" score.
In the five-year tour plan of Beethoven's 9-part Symphony Tour Four Hand Piano Concert, the 9th Symphony "Chorus" and "Egmont" Overture will be performed in 2023, the 1st to 3rd Symphonies will be performed in 2024, the 4th and 5th Symphonies will be performed in 2025, the 6th and 7th Symphonies will be performed in 2026, and the 8th Symphony and the "Grand Duke" of the 7th Piano Trio will be performed in 2027.
When the audience gets used to the Beethoven symphonies performed by the symphony orchestra, the two pianists hope to play them together in a four handed form, allowing the audience to experience different versions of the same work and gain a different viewing experience.
