In order to promote the rapid development of new technologies, new methods, new equipment and new instruments for human phenotyping measurement, on November 23, the “China Medical Device Innovation Conference” was hosted by the Shanghai International Human Phenome Research Institute and the National Medical Device Industry Technology Innovation Alliance. This event was founded in 2020 and has been successfully held three times so far. This event attracted more than 100 high-quality projects from across the country to sign up for the competition. After layers of screening, a total of more than 30 outstanding teams from the growth group and start-up group stood out and entered the finals. The shortlisted teams focused on the cutting-edge field of human body precision measurement, starting from meeting clinical needs and solving industry pain points, and demonstrated new technologies and products covering multiple fields such as medical devices, medical consumables, and smart medical care.
The finals of this competition are divided into two categories: growth group and start-up group. The review expert team leader of the growth group is Chen Jie, an academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and "Hao Qing" Distinguished Professor of Fudan University. The review expert team leader of the start-up group is former president of the World Society for Molecular Imaging, executive director of the Human Phenotypic Research Institute of Fudan University, Shanghai Tian Mei, deputy director of the International Human Phenome Research Institute, serves as the director.

Shanghai International Human Phenome Research Institute, as one of the organizers of this competition, is the strategic scientific and technological force and core research platform that organizes and implements the international large-scale scientific plan of human phenome. As early as 2015, Chinese and foreign scientists such as Jin Li systematically proposed the idea of an international human phenotypic project based on the concept of "measuring everything that is measurable". To date, the International Human Phenotype Project has made a number of breakthroughs, in particular the establishment of a cross-scale, multi-dimensional, one-stop human phenome precision measurement platform, which has completed the measurement of more than 24,000 phenotypes per person in natural populations. The deep phenotypic team drew the first human phenotypic navigation map and developed the first multi-omics reference material, laying a leading advantage for China in the field of phenomics research.
The "International Human Phenotype Project", a major municipal science and technology project in Shanghai, was launched this month. It is reported that the Shanghai International Human Phenome Research Institute, as the special leading unit, will continue to promote the phenomics research paradigm and accelerate the transformation and application of results.
