On the afternoon of June 6th, the third working meeting of the Yangtze River Delta Regional Ecological Environment Protection Cooperation Group was held in Hefei, Anhui.Chen Jining, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Leader of the Cooperation Group, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Anhui Provincial Party Secretary Han Jun delivered a speech.

Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Xu Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Governor, Wang Hao, Deputy Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Governor, and Wang Qingxian, Deputy Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Governor, respectively discussed the progress of ecological environment protection work in their respective provinces and cities, as well as suggestions for the next steps. Chen Jining pointed out that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) profoundly clarified that the harmonious coexistence of man and nature is an important connotation of Chinese path to modernization and a new form of human civilization, which fully demonstrates the strong will and determination of the CPC Central Committee to promote the construction of a beautiful China.

Chen Jining pointed out that we need to strengthen overall planning and coordination, focus on work implementation, and strive to achieve more breakthroughs and greater results in promoting carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, and growth in a coordinated manner. Accelerate regional green and low-carbon transformation, continue to make efforts in green production and lifestyle, green infrastructure construction, establishment and improvement of market mechanism, promote regional industrial structure adjustment, transformation and upgrading, guide people to actively participate in garbage classification, Clean Your Plate Campaign, water and electricity conservation, green travel, and activate social forces for green and low-carbon development. Adhere to scientific pollution control, precise pollution control, and legal pollution control, and deepen the joint protection and governance of the ecological environment. Defend the bottom line of safety, consolidate the ecological chassis, jointly promote the protection of the Yangtze River, strengthen cooperation between natural reserves and ecological diversity, strengthen emergency response linkage for ecological and environmental emergencies, and jointly build a regional ecological security barrier. Jointly promote the modernization of ecological environment governance, strengthen regional spatial control and standard management, accelerate the sharing of ecological environment data, continuously improve the efficiency of joint supervision, law enforcement, and governance through institutional innovation, and enhance the overall interests and comprehensive benefits of regional development. With greater determination, higher standards, and more practical measures, we will work together to do a better job in ecological environment protection cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta and contribute more to the construction of a beautiful China.

Han Jun expressed sincere gratitude to relevant national departments and Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang for their long-term care and support for the development of Anhui.

The next step is to focus on building a green and beautiful Yangtze River Delta, closely adhering to "integration" and "high quality", focusing on solving prominent common problems in the region, adhering to policy and institutional innovation and pioneering, accelerating the construction of environmental infrastructure, actively carrying out local practice of building a beautiful China, and promoting further deepening and implementation of ecological environment protection in the Yangtze River Delta.

The meeting heard a report from the Office of the Cooperation Group on the progress and implementation of key regional cooperation work, as well as the next steps of work arrangements. Comrades from relevant national departments made speeches.

Before the meeting, the ecological and environmental departments of the three provinces and one city jointly released the "Action Report on Climate Change Response in the Yangtze River Delta Region" and the "Ecological and Environmental Quality Report of the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Green Integration Development Demonstration Zone", and jointly signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Collaborative Promotion of Ecological and Environmental Data Sharing in the Yangtze River Delta Region" and the "Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing an Environmental Credit Supervision Information Sharing Mechanism for Social and Ecological Environment Monitoring Institutions in the Yangtze River Delta Region"; The ecological and environmental departments of Shanghai and Jiangsu Province have signed a memorandum of understanding on the joint protection and governance of cross-border rivers and lakes in the Shanghai Jiangsu border area; The ecological and environmental departments of Jiangsu Province and Anhui Province have signed a memorandum of understanding on the joint protection and governance of cross-border rivers and lakes in the Jiangsu Anhui border area; The ecological and environmental departments of Zhejiang Province and Anhui Province have signed a memorandum of understanding on the joint prevention and control of air pollution in the "2+5" border area between Zhejiang and Anhui; The agricultural and rural departments of three provinces and one city jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of a joint prevention and control mechanism for invasive alien species in the Yangtze River Delta region; The transportation departments of the three provinces and one city, as well as the Shanghai Composite Port Management Committee, jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote the low-carbon transformation and development of ports and shipping in the Yangtze River Delta.
