The reporter learned from the relevant regulatory authorities that starting from August 1, 2023, the last bus from Guanglan Road Station to Pudong International Airport will be delayed by 30 minutes. On this basis, the last bus from Guanglan Road Subway Station to Pudong 11 and other stations connected to Line 2 will also be extended.
Comprehensive optimization of public transportation solutions
According to the Rail Transit Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Transportation, Line 2, which covers a total length of 60.34 kilometers, is the "backbone line" with the highest passenger volume and longer route in the Shencheng Rail Transit network. Its two ends are connected to the two major airports of Hongqiao and Pudong, and several important commercial districts and economic development zones are also connected along the way. The one-way travel time is expected to reach 90 minutes, and the daily passenger volume reaches 1.3 million people. Due to the fact that the line has been in operation for more than 20 years and a large number of facilities and equipment have entered a major renovation period, the construction work is heavy and the maintenance time is tight after the night shutdown. In addition, considering the relatively low passenger flow in the east section of Guanglan Road, Line 2 has always adopted a differentiated final bus schedule.

According to the nighttime departure data of Guanglan Road Station, there were approximately 1500 passengers departing from the station within 74 minutes after 22:30, of which 70% were passengers departing between 22:30 and 23:00.
In response to the increasing demand for trains heading towards Pudong International Airport at night, the subway has initiated preparations such as the preparation of train schedules. The plan is to optimize the final train plan for the eastern extension of Line 2 from August 1, 2023, and extend the current last train time from Guanglan Road Station to Pudong International Airport by 30 minutes, from 22:30 to 23:00. In addition to rail transit, the Passenger Transport Department of the Shanghai Road Transport Administration has also provided optimization plans for connecting public transportation. Starting from August 1st, the connection time between Pudong Road 11 and Guanglan Road subway station will be extended from 22:16 to 23:15. This will ensure that the last bus in the delayed operation of the East Extension can be connected by bus routes. At the same time, according to the current Shentong Group's delayed operation plan and industry standards for Line 2, Pudong New Area will also extend the last bus operation time of 5 bus lines beyond Pudong No. 11 to connect with Line 2, including 2 bus lines at Tangzhen Metro Station and 2 bus lines at Chuansha Metro Station, all of which will be 15 minutes later than the last bus of the subway.

On the evening of July 17th, the Pudong Traffic Law Enforcement Detachment, in conjunction with the Public Security Traffic Police, Zhangjiang Urban Management Squadron and other departments, carried out a joint rectification campaign against the nighttime chaos around the Guanglan Road subway station. During this period, various law enforcement departments, based on the characteristics of the scene, aimed to maintain order and quickly evacuate the crowd, urged relevant vehicles to leave as soon as possible, and investigated and dealt with 4 illegal ride hailing vehicles through methods such as setting up checkpoints. On the morning of July 20th and the evening of July 24th, the Zhangjiang Urban Management Squadron once again went to the scene to carry out rectification work, cracking down on illegal passenger vehicles and illegal taxis, and purifying the surrounding traffic environment.

During the rectification process, relevant law enforcement departments also guided taxis to dedicated taxi lanes to improve road capacity and regulate road traffic order.
