On June 8th, the Jiuliting Street in Songjiang District held a unveiling ceremony for the opening of the People's Proposal Collection Contact Point and a People's Proposal Collection Work Exchange Meeting at the Jiuliting Workshop Party and Mass Service Station, to smooth the channels and platforms for soliciting suggestions from residents in Jiuliting and transform their "golden ideas" into "golden keys" to opening up urban governance.
It is understood that soliciting suggestions from the people is a channel platform for the people to offer suggestions and participate in political discussions at any time. It is also an important window for the party committee and government to solicit public sentiment and wisdom. In recent years, the forms of soliciting opinions from the masses in Jiuliting Street have become increasingly diverse and innovative. Currently, one People's Suggestion Collection Workstation, one People's Suggestion Collection Contact Point, one mailbox delivery point, 15 residential area collection points, and one street reception point have been established. The contact point for soliciting suggestions from the people of Jiuli Workshop has been officially put into use, aiming to continuously smooth the channels for soliciting suggestions from the people.
"In the first half of this year, the street received multiple suggestions from the people through the people's suggestion collection mailbox and email, with a focus on accelerating the construction speed of municipal main roads, opening health centers, nursing homes and other livelihood projects, and improving and renovating facilities related to subway entrances. After receiving the suggestions, the relevant functional departments attach great importance to them, actively analyze and judge, and currently all have been transformed or planned to be adopted."
Lin Hui, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jiuliting Street, said that it is necessary to encourage the masses to reflect their voices reasonably and legally, follow up the handling of people's suggestions throughout the process, and actively follow up and feedback. "The collection of people's suggestions should be included in the important agenda., Departments, timely research, clear work time limits and completion measures, for those beyond the scope of responsibilities of the unit and the department, the petition office should collect information, regularly hold joint meetings on letters and visits to study special topics."
It is reported that since 2021, Jiuliting Street has received multiple suggestions from the people. For example, it is suggested to establish health centers within the jurisdiction of the street, accelerate the construction and acceptance speed, so that residents in the jurisdiction can conveniently and quickly seek medical treatment and dispense medicine. With the coordination and handling of multiple parties, the Jiuliting Street Community Health Service Center will officially open to the public this year; Residents have also proposed optimization plans to shorten the construction period of municipal roads as much as possible. After verification and coordination, management of the construction process is strengthened, manpower and material resources are increased, and construction efficiency is improved to achieve the goal of minimizing the impact of road construction on travel as much as possible.
"When I saw the tweets on the street's WeChat official account for people's suggestions, the idea of submitting people's suggestions came into my mind. After repeated thinking, I submitted two people's suggestions in the first half of this year, both of which were accepted." Qian Shunbing, a resident of Aoyuan Community, Jiuliting Street, said that after receiving people's suggestions, the street's petition office communicated with itself many times and further improved the reporting materials.
It is reported that over the past year, there have been a total of 45 suggestions from enthusiastic residents regarding various work in Jiuliting Street. Currently, 44 suggestions have been transformed or planned to be adopted. "This year, the street has also carried out activities such as soliciting public opinion projects, soliciting green travel slogans, creating a 15 minute community life circle action blueprint, and naming a demonstration area for refined urban management. Efforts have been made to adopt and transform targeted and feasible suggestions," said Gong Rui, the person in charge of petition work in Jiuliting Street.
At the scene, an award ceremony was also held to solicit people's suggestions for the green space of the Jiuliting bus hub. It is reported that as the green parking lot of Jiuliting Bus Hub is about to be completed, Jiuliting Street has launched a green space naming campaign for the public, receiving a total of 162 green space names. After preliminary screening by functional departments, re evaluation by evaluation committees, and final evaluation by street leaders, a total of three green space names were shortlisted. Lin Hui stated that in the follow-up work, Jiuliting Street will further open up channels for soliciting people's suggestions, extend the scope of soliciting suggestions, promote the transformation of suggestion results, explore the creation of characteristic projects for resolving conflicts serving the people in the jurisdiction, and open up a new situation of soliciting people's suggestions and resolving conflicts at the grassroots level in Jiuliting.
