43-year-old Jiao Qing is from Dongying, Shandong Province and is a serious runner. For example, when I compete in Shanghai, I will run 20 kilometers in Binjiang. Ten years ago, Jiao Qing chose running because he wanted to lose weight. "I didn't exercise for a while, and my weight increased to 180 pounds at that time." In order to run, Jiao Qing gets up at 5 o'clock every morning and runs a half-marathon before going to work.
"Is running really addictive if I run every day?" When asked by reporters, Jiao Qing told the truth, "Who doesn't like to sleep in, but exercise is a very self-disciplined behavior and requires willpower."
It is precisely because of serious running that Jiao Qing's marathon results continue to improve. What makes him more proud is that in 2017, he participated in the horse racing and ranked 40th, and was also listed on the official website. "The competition was not as fierce as it is now. I didn't expect to get such a good ranking."
In the circle of runners in his hometown, Jiao Qing is also well-known. "Basically, the top seven results in the marathon performance rankings in our circle of runners are all created by me." Jiao Qing did not expect that he could run out of PB this time. "Actually, I was in pretty good shape last year. I had a chance to run under 2 hours and 40 minutes, but I was unable to participate in the race. I fell ill in the first half of this year and rested for several months, so I felt in average condition. I originally wanted to run comfortably this time. "
Having run more than 50 marathons at home and abroad, Jiao Qing is still full of praise for the atmosphere at Shang Ma, “Shang Ma has a deep foundation and a good atmosphere. When I ran to the Binjiang section, I saw the Mercedes Center opposite, which was very modern. At the end of the race, I ran to the Shanghai Stadium. The sense of ceremony is very strong.”
Jiao Qing often goes to horse races, and Jiao Qing is used to living alone. Every time he goes to Shanghai, he will stroll around Nanjing Road and Xintiandi and buy some Shanghai-style snacks. He has become more and more familiar with the city.
