From the coast of the East China Sea to the snowy plateau, the friendship between Shanghai and Tibet is once again recorded in a new chapter. From July 17 to 18, Chen Jining, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, led the Shanghai delegation, together with Wang Junzheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xizang Autonomous Region, to go deep into hospitals, schools, modern agricultural parks and remote villages in Shigatse City, check the implementation of counterpart support projects, go into farmers' families to ask about their needs, and widely listen to the opinions and suggestions of local cadres and the masses. Chen Jining pointed out that counterpart support to Shigatse, Xizang, has a glorious mission and great responsibility.

Counterpart support to Xizang is an important strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee from the perspective of the overall work of the Party and the state. In the past 30 years, under the leadership of the Party Committee and the government of the Xizang Autonomous Region and the Shigatse Municipal Party Committee and the Shigatse Municipal Government, Shanghai's assistance to Tibet has adhered to the principle of "putting people's livelihood first, industry first, planning first, and talent first". It has made continuous efforts for a long time, injected vitality into the economic and social development of Shigatse City and its five counterpart counties, and promoted border stability and ethnic unity.

On the afternoon of the 17th, leaders from Shanghai and Tibet held a work symposium and together visited and comforted representatives of Shanghai's aid to Tibet cadres and talents. On the morning of the 18th, Chen Jining and Wang Junzheng arrived at the People's Hospital of Shigatse City. Here, Shanghai is implementing a "group style" medical assistance, with the goal of building an autonomous region level regional medical center and continuously improving the medical conditions for local residents. In the outpatient hall, Chen Jining had a friendly exchange with medical staff, gaining a detailed understanding of outpatient volume, medical strength, common disease types, and surgical progress. In the emergency department, Dr. Wang Yihui, a Tibetan aid doctor from Ruijin Hospital, told the city leaders that they helped local hospitals create national clinical key specialties through "hospital package department" and carried out "teacher led apprentice" training. His two "apprentices", Sorangjiedo and Danzendawa, have become local experts. Chen Jining encourages them to continue exploring and building a medical team that cannot be taken away for the local area. He said that in order to provide targeted support, we should do more "blood making" work. We need to leverage Shanghai's technological and talent advantages, enhance the quality and efficiency of "group style" medical assistance, promote the further sinking of high-quality medical resources at the grassroots level, and benefit more farmers and herdsmen.

Education is not only a fundamental measure to prevent intergenerational transmission of poverty, but also a key measure to enhance national unity. Relying on the "group style" education assistance in Shanghai, the education and teaching quality of Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse has made significant progress. The Shanghai delegation came to the school to inspect the facilities and environment, listen to the report on the construction of the school, and understand the specific measures to improve the quality of education and carry out teacher training. "What are the eating and accommodation conditions for students? Is it convenient to take a shower?" "What are the activities offered in physical education classes?" Chen Jining asked carefully about every aspect of students' learning and life in school. In the Chinese Herbal Science Popularization Experience Hall established by the school, students are making sachets, mugwort sticks, and experiencing the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture. Chen Jining has gained a detailed understanding of the vivid practice of using traditional Chinese medicine as a carrier to explore and carry out science popularization and ideological and political education in schools. He encourages teachers to constantly explore and innovate, moisten things silently, and effectively guide students to cultivate a sense of community for the Chinese nation. Chen Jining said that we should actively explore teaching models that are in line with local realities, based on the characteristics of the schools and students being assisted, further build platforms and expand channels, promote deepening learning and mutual learning, exchange and interaction between teachers and students in the two regions, and promote the in-depth development of intellectual aid to Tibet.

Promoting regional development, increasing employment and income for the masses, and promoting industrial development are of utmost importance. Thanks to Shanghai's technology, equipment, and seed sources, the Jiangzi County Red River Valley Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park, with an altitude of over 4000 meters, focuses on promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional agriculture, radiating and driving 28 vegetable planting points in 19 townships. The delegation arrived at the demonstration park and entered the smart greenhouse to observe the growth of tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, and other crops. They inquired in detail about the funding, technology, market, and employment and income of farmers. Chen Jining urged further research on the unique local resource endowments, fully utilizing Shanghai's technological, industrial, and market advantages, and providing industry assistance tailored to local conditions. To better introduce market mechanisms, extend the industrial chain, strengthen market promotion, brand cultivation, and reputation dissemination, and open up sales channels for high-quality and distinctive products. To better highlight the driving role of industries, promote employment and income growth for the masses, stimulate the endogenous development momentum of farmers and herdsmen, and help people of all ethnic groups to steadily increase their income and improve their lives.

Along the Nianchu River Valley, Chen Jining and his delegation arrived at Suogai Village, Niandui Township, Jiangzi County. A newly built hardened road connects 105 households in Suogai Village, with thousands of acres of barley sprouting and heading, and large areas of rapeseed flowers blooming. A beautiful rural painting slowly unfolds. The delegation inspected the village along the way, listened to the village history and the introduction of the construction of demonstration villages for rural revitalization. The village officials told the leaders of Shanghai and Tibet that with the assistance of Shanghai, the village adheres to the guidance of party building, industrial support, and people's livelihood empowerment, carries out living environment improvement, introduces cooperative enterprises, and the per capita income of villagers and the collective economic income of the village continue to grow. At the Shanghai Craftsman Pulu Studio, three Tibetan women are learning to weave more creative designs of Pulu. Chen Jining has a detailed understanding of the research and development of local specialty products and the operation of handicraft cooperatives. He said that improving people's livelihoods and rallying people's hearts are the starting point and foothold for us to do a good job in matching support work. To effectively connect the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements with rural revitalization, based on local resources and traditional culture, establish standards, improve quality, and strengthen brands around characteristic industries, and achieve sustainable development. We need to increase investment in people's livelihoods, focus on improving grassroots living facilities, enhancing public service levels, and comprehensively enhancing the sense of gain, happiness, and security of farmers and herdsmen.

In Suogai Village, Chen Jining and Wang Junzheng visited the family of farmer Mima Qiongda. Sitting in a small courtyard full of Tibetan culture, Chen Jining and the Mima Qiongda family chatted about their daily lives, carefully calculated their income and development accounts, and inquired about their daily life, education, and medical treatment. Mima Qiongda told the leaders of both places that she has joined the Pulu Cooperative, her daughter and son-in-law are working in Jiangzi County, her granddaughter is in elementary school, and her family has contracted 25 acres of farmland and raised 6 cows. Her income is increasing year by year, and her life is sweeter than honey.Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, we have won the battle against poverty. This is not the end point, but the starting point for a new life and new struggle. "As long as we follow the Communist Party, our lives will get better and better!" He reminded the Tibetan aid cadres to go deep into the grassroots and the masses, and to make the corresponding support work reach the hearts of the people, so that the hearts of the people in the two places can be connected, emotions can blend, and they can be tightly held together like pomegranate seeds.
