More than 12,000 people walked into the "Rainbow Arena", from sports venues to communities and schools
"You are the new force in the Hongkou Stadium to fight." On November 24, the Sixth Hongkou District Sports Games, which lasted for half a year, ended the competition in all 45 events and officially came to an end at the Hongkou Gymnasium.
This year's District Games attracted more than 12,000 participants, with nearly 51,000 participants, making it the largest comprehensive sports event with the most complete projects and the widest influence in Hongkou District so far. As an important source of Shanghai's sports development, Hongkou used a "simple, safe, diverse and exciting" sports feast to showcase the spirit of the people of Hongkou to the outside world and reflect the vitality and charm of Shanghai, a sports city.
There are 63 adult group delegations, 9 senior group delegations and 69 student group delegations from 69 schools. A total of 141 teams participated in this district games, setting a new high in previous district games. In terms of events, the competition has a total of 45 major events. Among them, there are a total of 20 competition events for the adult and senior groups, which not only retain traditional competitive events that are popular with the public, such as tug-of-war, football, basketball, and track and field, but also cover relatively static events such as chess and cards. The student group relied on the Student Sunshine Sports League and set up 25 competition events. For the first time, new events such as laser shooting, dryland ice hockey, handball, and fun track and field were added.
In order to attract more people to participate, this district games have been fully upgraded in the format of the games. First of all, in terms of the main body of organizing the games, a total of 15 third-party event companies and individual sports associations will jointly organize the games, and use "online and offline" methods to make the District Games more widely spread. Secondly, the venues for this district games are more diversified. Not only in stadiums, many events are also held in communities, schools, and on the streets, which has shortened the distance between sports and citizens.
At the closing ceremony, many coaches and athletes active in Hongkou Sports were awarded the "Sports Ethics Award", "Excellent Organization Award" and "Contribution Award" of this district games. Shanghai Hongkou District Youth Sports Training Center was officially unveiled.
