The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded that the US government has begun investigating Huawei smartphones: opposing politicizing economic, trade, and technological issues
On September 8th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked that the US government has begun an investigation into Huawei's latest smartphones and chips. This has also sparked discussions in Washington about the effectiveness of sanctions. What is China's comment on this?
Mao Ning stated that we have always opposed politicizing economic, trade, and technological issues, as well as abusing and generalizing the concept of national security. The United States abuses its national power, unreasonably suppresses Chinese enterprises, violates the principles of free trade and international economic and trade rules, disrupts global supply chain stability, and harms others rather than itself. What I want to emphasize is that sanctions, containment, and suppression cannot prevent China's development, but will only enhance China's determination and ability to be independent, self reliant, and innovate in science and technology.
