The body of a male student who lost contact at a subway station in Sichuan has been found
On September 8th, according to Sichuan Observation, Deng Mouwei, a 21-year-old junior boy in Sichuan, lost contact for 6 days after leaving the subway station. His family claimed to have found his backpack glasses, but his mobile ID card was not in his bag, which has attracted attention.
On September 10th, Chengdu Tianfu Public Security issued a police report on this matter, stating that on September 8th, it was learned that the public security organs of Pengshan District, Meishan City, had discovered an unnamed male corpse in the Minjiang River in their jurisdiction. After DNA comparison and identification by family members, it was confirmed that the deceased was the missing male student Deng Mouwei.

At around 18:00 on September 4, 2023, Deng went to the Huayang Police Station of our bureau to report to the police for help, stating that his son Deng Mouwei went missing on September 3, 2023 and hoped that the police station could help locate him.
After receiving the alarm, our bureau immediately organized police forces to conduct personnel searches, visits, and investigations. It was found that Deng Mouwei left a hotel in Wuhou District at around 11:00 on September 3 and appeared alone in areas such as Exit B of Nanhu Interchange Station on Metro Line 5. At 13:25, he walked to Nanhu No.3 Bridge, looked into the river at the middle section of the bridge, and then walked to the end of the bridge to lose his trace.

At around 21:00 on September 5th, a group of people found a backpack near Nanhu No.3 Bridge, which contained items such as a laptop, driver's license, glasses, toiletries, etc. According to Deng's identification, the bag and its contents belong to his son Deng Wei. After retrieving surveillance footage and inquiring with relevant personnel, it was confirmed that the backpack had a disconnection crack during Deng's stay at the hotel.
During the ongoing search, our bureau learned on September 8th that the public security organs of Pengshan District, Meishan City, had discovered an unnamed male corpse in the Minjiang River in their jurisdiction. They immediately collaborated with the local public security organs to carry out the identification work of the corpse. After DNA comparison and identification by family members, it was confirmed that the deceased was Deng Mouwei.
Conduct comprehensive visits and investigations, on-site investigations, and corpse examinations to eliminate homicide. Our bureau has informed the family members of the relevant investigation results, and the family members have no objection to the investigation results.
At present, the relevant aftermath work is underway.
Previously, according to family members, Deng Mouwei left at Exit B of Nanhu Interchange Station on Chengdu Metro Line 5 on the afternoon of September 3, 2023. He has not been in contact since then and his phone has been turned off.

He was originally studying at Deyang Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical College, but his backpack and glasses were found on Jinjiang Road in Shuangliu. His phone and ID card were not in his bag.
Mr. Deng said, "On the day of his disappearance, the teacher called us and found out that he had not gone to school. On August 2nd, he went to Chengdu with his classmates and has been there ever since. The last time he appeared was when he came out of the hotel and checked out on September 3rd."
