As of June 11, the number of people entering and leaving Shenzhen has exceeded 100 million. In particular, on June 8 and 9, two days before the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station checked 888,000 and 892,000 people entering and leaving the country, respectively, breaking the historical record since the full resumption of customs clearance for two consecutive days.

According to Shao Jicheng, a third-level senior police sergeant of the Border Inspection Department of the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station, this year, the time period when the inbound and outbound passenger flow exceeded 100 million was three months earlier than in 2023, which indirectly reflects the in-depth development of coordinated integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the increasingly frequent personnel exchanges between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao.

Since the beginning of this year, affected by the continuous expansion of visa-free countries, the growth of international air transport capacity, the hot cross-border consumption, and the rich economic and cultural activities such as the Canton Fair and the Cultural Expo, Shenzhen's ports have ushered in multiple rounds of inbound and outbound passenger flow peaks. In April this year, the West Kowloon Station Port of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway and the Liantang Port were newly added as exit ports applicable to Guangdong Province's 144-hour transit visa-free policy. As of 0:00 on June 10, the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station had inspected a total of 2.172 million inbound and outbound foreigners, an increase of 162.6% year-on-year.
