Li Qiang Meets with President of the European Commission von der Leyen
On the afternoon of September 9 local time, Premier Li Qiang met with President of the European Commission von der Leyen during his attendance at the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
Li Qiang stated that the mainstream of China Europe relations is cooperation, and the essence is win-win. As the two major forces of a multipolar world and the two engines of global development, China and Europe should further unite and cooperate, using the stability of China Europe relations to hedge against the uncertainty of the world situation. China is willing to work together with the European side to successfully host the China Europe Leaders' Meeting to be held this year, deepen mutual trust and resolve differences through communication and consultation, and work together to make more positive contributions to the cause of global peace and development.
Li Qiang pointed out that risk prevention and cooperation are not opposed, and interdependence and insecurity cannot be simply equated, let alone economic issues should be generalized and politicized. China's development and opening-up bring opportunities, not risks, to Europe and the world. China is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with Europe to enhance the reliability and stability of China Europe economic and trade relations. We hope that the EU will uphold the principles of market economy and fair competition, maintain an open trade and investment market, and provide a fair, transparent, and non discriminatory environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Europe. China is willing to further deepen its green partnership with Europe, strengthen dialogue and cooperation in areas such as clean energy and green finance, and provide support for developing countries to address climate change.
Von der Leyen said that since this year, EU China exchanges have been strengthened and achieved positive results. The European side is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China in various fields to jointly address global challenges such as climate change.
Wu Zhenglong and others attended the meeting.
