Japanese media: Japan's export of aquatic products to China may decrease to 0
According to the report of Nihon Keizai Shimbun on September 6, the data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan on the 5th showed that Japan's export of aquatic products to the mainland of China in July was 7.7 billion yen, a year-on-year decrease of 23%. According to the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture and Water, this is the first year-on-year decrease in Japan's exports of aquatic products to China in two and a half years.
According to reports, the total export value of Japanese aquatic products in July was 33.7 billion yen, a decrease of 3% year-on-year. The reduction in scallops, the main export product, is particularly significant. The export value of scallops was 6 billion yen, a year-on-year decrease of 28%. Among them, the export value of scallops to mainland China was 3.3 billion yen, a year-on-year decrease of 40%.

According to reports, due to the Japanese government's plan to discharge nuclear contaminated water into the sea, the Chinese government has adjusted its policy since July to conduct radioactive material inspections on all water products produced in Japan, prior to which sampling inspections were conducted. The situation of aquatic products being detained at customs for inspection has increased. Due to decreased freshness and poor sales, Japan's exports of aquatic products to China have stagnated.

According to reports, Hong Kong is the second largest exporter of aquatic products to Japan, second only to mainland China. Japan's exports of aquatic products to Hong Kong in July were 6 billion yen, a decrease of 11% year-on-year.
