On September 8th, the reporter learned from the Hangzhou Medical Security Management Service Center that the center was concerned about whether traditional Chinese medicine tea drinks such as "sour plum soup" were included in medical insurance. On September 6th, the center issued a notice to all designated medical institutions, reiterating that non disease treatment expenses cannot be included in the payment of medical security funds. The relevant person in charge of the center told Pengpai News that according to the "Interim Measures for the Administration of Medication in Basic Medical Insurance" and other regulations, non disease treatment expenses are not covered by the medical insurance fund.

The notice from the center reminds designated medical institutions to strictly follow the regulations of the National Basic Medical Insurance, Work Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance Drug Catalogue, the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China, and other regulations to standardize the use of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, and to prevent the inclusion of non compliant decoction pieces in medical insurance fund payments. The Hangzhou Medical Security Management Service Center will verify the relevant fees settled by designated medical institutions and take serious measures if any violations are found.
