Belgrade, September 7th (Xinhua) - Interview: US military hegemony threatens global security and development - Interview with former senior Serbian diplomat Zyovanovic

Former senior Serbian diplomat and international expert Zhivadin Jovanovic recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters in Belgrade that US military hegemony threatens global security, stability, and development. The NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, led by the United States, is a major example.
Jovanovic served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and is currently the President of the Belgrade World Forum on Equality. During his tenure as Foreign Minister, NATO led by the United States, under the guise of "avoiding humanitarian disasters", bypassed the United Nations Security Council, violated the United Nations Charter, and bombed the Southern Alliance. The 78 day bombing resulted in over 2000 civilian deaths, over 6000 injuries, and nearly 1 million people being displaced.
During the bombing, NATO also used cluster bombs and depleted uranium bombs prohibited by international conventions. In March 2000, NATO admitted in a letter submitted to the United Nations that it had fired approximately 31000 depleted uranium bombs during its bombing of the Southern Alliance.
Jovanovich said that the real motivation behind NATO's bombing of the Southern Alliance, led by the United States, was to deploy troops closer to Russia. At the same time, under the guise of promoting national security and development interests, the United States is still using NATO for military expansion. "When NATO bombed in 1999, the number of NATO member countries was 19, but now it has increased to 31."
On the 5th, Jovanovich participated in a seminar on the release of the report by Xinhua News Agency's national high-end think tank "The Roots, Reality, and Hazards of US Military Hegemony". He believes that this report is very important and inspiring, objectively and comprehensively revealing and analyzing the US military hegemony behavior, which will play an important role in strengthening global unity, building a multipolar and more just and inclusive new world order.
Jovanovich pointed out that for a long time, the United States has not only supported separatists by providing them with funding, arms, and training, but also violated the sovereignty of other countries under the guise of "democratization" and "upholding human rights". It has established a secret prison network, monitored countries around the world, including its allies, and forced other sovereign countries to comply with US law. These are all acts of US hegemony.
