College Students from Shanghai Health Medical College Enter Yunnan, Injecting Youth Power into Rural Revitalization
Putonghua promotion, pregnant diabetes health promotion, diabetes diet method promotion... This summer vacation, the summer social practice team of Shanghai Health Medical College students went to Kunming, Yuxi, Honghe Prefecture and other places in Yunnan Province to give play to the professional skills and expertise of the team, with the theme of "Health Science Popularization to Assist Yunnan and Hand in Hand to Build a Youth Road", to deliver services to local people and inject youth into rural revitalization.
It is reported that in this social practice volunteer service activity, the summer social practice team of Shanghai Health Medical College students will focus on pregnancy diabetes. For this reason, the team prepared and directed a micro film "Sweet Burden" based on the story prototype of diabetes patients during pregnancy before setting out, which aroused the audience's attention to diabetes during pregnancy by telling the origin of the protagonist's illness, inner feelings and later health management.
The team went to Chengguan Community, Huaning County, Yuxi City, the First People's Hospital of Yuanyang County, Jianshui County and other places to carry out activities to popularize pregnancy diabetes and diet therapy for diabetes to local residents and medical staff.
At the activity site, the team first played the original popular science micro film to popularize pregnancy diabetes to everyone, and then explained the causes, common clinical manifestations, hazards, health management, treatment and other aspects of diabetes in view of everyone's understanding of diabetes, knowledge misconceptions and questions about diabetes related content, conveying the importance of early prevention, early detection, early treatment, and how to pay attention to diet to prevent diabetes in life.
Eating plays an important role in effectively controlling blood sugar, which is known as dietary therapy. The team consulted relevant literature in advance, produced a 14 day sugar controlled recipe under the guidance of nutrition experts, and made it into a brochure. In this practical activity, it took it to various places for publicity and promotion. It also shot a video of recipe cooking, which was broadcast on the official account, Little Red Book, Tiktok and other platforms to convey scientific health concepts to more people.
At the same time, as a "popularization team", team members actively visit local residents to understand the level of Mandarin popularization, and carry out Mandarin promotion theme education and lectures in communities, hospitals, and other places. Through different sections, they better guide local people to learn and use Mandarin, and help rural revitalization.
Shanghai University of Health and Medicine stated that students actively utilize their professional skills and strengths in summer social practice, go deep into grassroots frontline, receive education in practice, apply knowledge to practice, and inject youthful energy into rural revitalization.
