Cleaner and more efficient! Tangqiao Street is exploring the launch of a "bucket for bucket" wet garbage removal model
There are still some areas that need to be optimized and improved in the current garbage removal work in old residential areas, such as the noise emitted during the morning garbage removal and the odor emitted by the accumulation of wet garbage in the community for a long time.
In the construction of the boutique urban area, Tangqiao Street has cooperated with the Pudong New Area Waste Management Center to explore a new "bucket for bucket" cleaning and transportation model, effectively improving the quality of the community's living environment.
The biggest difference between the "bucket for bucket" mode and the traditional mode is that the rear loading garbage truck is replaced by a box type flat lift truck. The rear loading garbage truck requires manual towing of the garbage bin to the device behind the loading hopper, and then using mechanical devices to lift the garbage bin and dump the garbage. During the process, the garbage bin continuously collides with the vehicle body, producing frequent noise. During morning cleaning, it can easily affect the rest of surrounding residents. When dumping wet garbage, it is also easy to leak and pollute the ground, affecting the surrounding environment.
In the "bucket for bucket" mode, the cleaning vehicle uses a box type flatbed lift truck. During the cleaning process, the vehicle transports clean empty garbage bins to the community and transports full wet garbage bins to nearby small garbage compression and collection stations on Puming Road or Huanlong Road for processing. The rear of the vehicle is equipped with a lifting plate of about 5 square meters, which can hold up to 4 trash cans at once. Lower the lifting plate to the ground, use the wheels under the garbage bin to push the garbage bins up and down one by one, and then lift the lifting plate with one click to push the garbage bin into the carriage. The whole process is relatively quiet. "Exchange" replaces "dumping", reduces noise, prevents leakage, and effectively improves the community living environment.
"In addition to noise and odor issues, the traditional garbage removal model also has a problem that is easily overlooked, which is the labor risk of cleaning personnel. A full wet garbage bin may weigh more than 200 kilograms, and the previous dragging action has placed a heavy burden on cleaning personnel, which is also a pain point problem we found during in-depth research." said Chen Long from the Urban Construction Management Center of Tangqiao Street.
After the wet garbage arrives at the small compression station, the staff of the small compression station will first check the purity of the wet garbage before dumping and processing, and promptly provide feedback to the street classification office on the community information with low purity of wet garbage. The street classification office will supervise the residential area to lead the property company to rectify, forming a closed-loop management of garbage classification. After dumping, the staff of the small pressure station will use a high-pressure water gun to flush and clean the garbage bins, and then load them onto a truck to go to other communities to "exchange buckets" to clear the garbage.
Tangqiao Street has 29 old residential areas and 66 garbage disposal sites, producing approximately 90 barrels of 240 liters of wet garbage per day. Since the launch of the "bucket for bucket" wet waste cleaning mode in April this year, all wet waste cleaning work can be completed every morning, and the cleaning efficiency has been greatly improved, thanks to the characteristics of the "bucket for bucket" mode.
Chen Long introduced that after the implementation of the "bucket for bucket" model, cleaning vehicles only need to travel back and forth between small pressure stations and residential areas, reducing travel and queuing time, and ensuring that cleaning tasks can be completed every morning.
Next, Tangqiao Street will also combine the "bucket for bucket" cleaning model to gradually promote the "two daily cleaning" of household waste in residential areas, avoiding the odor of wet waste "overnight" in the community, and further improving residents' satisfaction with garbage classification work.
