The latest agricultural situation dispatch from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs shows that currently, except for some flood stricken areas, most areas in North China, the Yellow River, Huaihe River, and the Sea have good soil moisture, which is conducive to the growth and development of autumn crops; The growth of mid to late season rice in the south is significantly better than last year; Except for some drought stricken areas in the northwest, the overall growth of autumn crops is normal.
At present, a bountiful harvest of 10000 acres of green ecological rice is imminent in the Erhai River Basin of Yunnan. On September 4th, the Dali Prefecture Plant Protection Station conducted the final inspection of rice diseases and pests.
"This year, the migration period of rice planthoppers has advanced, and the southern black stripe dwarf disease of rice is rapidly spreading. Coupled with the previous high temperature and drought, and the recent high temperature and rainfall, there is a high risk of outbreaks of rice diseases and pests." It is reported that currently, most of the local rice is in the stage of heading, flowering, pollination, and filling. Rice blast, seedling blight, bacterial blight, rice planthoppers, borers, and sticky worms have become the main threats to rice yield.
"The Dali Prefecture Plant Protection and Inspection Station focuses on the Erhai River Basin and sends 75 professional technical personnel through systematic monitoring points to investigate the occurrence of rice diseases and pests in the fields. The person in charge said that by establishing a 2000 acre demonstration zone for comprehensive prevention and control of rice diseases and pests, they supervise and guide 12 counties and cities to carry out field monitoring and prevention of rice diseases and pests, providing strong support for scientific and effective prevention and control of crop diseases and pests and ensuring food production safety.".
In order to do a good job in the prevention and control of diseases and pests in autumn crops, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued a central government funding of 723 million yuan for agricultural disaster prevention, reduction and relief. Among them, 371 million yuan was allocated for the prevention and control of rice diseases and pests, supporting provinces such as Jiangxi and Hunan to do a good job in the prevention and control of rice diseases and pests such as rice blast and rice "two migration" pests.
At the end of September, the national autumn harvest will gradually usher in large-scale harvest. "Each major production area should implement classified policies and continuously focus on field management in the later stage of autumn grain production."
