Recently, a yogurt ordering notice from Wangwuqiao Central Primary School in Zhengyang County, Henan Province has raised concerns among parents. In the notice, the class teacher called on parents of students to actively order yogurt, stating that "families with conditions should actively order, while families without conditions should create conditions to order.". The notice also mentioned that in order to "alleviate" the financial pressure on parents, the school has discussed changing the order of 4 boxes of milk per student to 3 boxes, with a total cost of 330 yuan.
This incident has sparked controversy in the local area, and parents have expressed their concerns. On the noon of September 8th, a reporter from China Central Radio and Television Network arrived at the entrance of Wangwuqiao Central Primary School. Some parents showed the content of the notice to the reporter and stated that the initial order was for 4 boxes for 440 yuan, and only a dozen or so families participated in this order.
During the interview, the reporter had an exchange with a student. According to the student, the teacher has repeatedly urged parents to participate in ordering through the student. The student said, "If you don't order, you will make a phone call, and my teacher said you can let us order." When asked about the consequences of not ordering, a parent present said, "If you don't order, it will be bad for your child.".
It is understood that staff from the Education Bureau of Zhengyang County stated in a media interview on the same day that they have received feedback from parents and are currently investigating and handling this matter. For the follow-up progress of the event, China Central Radio and Television Network will continue to monitor.
