At all costs, Zelensky: If the EU extends the ban on grain imports to Ukraine
According to Russia's Lianta.com on September 6th, Ukrainian President Zelensky has threatened to initiate international arbitration if the EU extends its ban on Ukrainian grain imports after September 15th. The Ukrainian President's website has released his speech.
According to reports, the President of Ukraine emphasized that Kiev firmly opposes further restrictions on food exports. He said that grains are becoming a source of income for European countries in processing and logistics, and Ukraine can handle it calmly, but it does not intend to tolerate actions that violate commitments, collude with agreements, or disrupt the free market environment.
Zelensky said, "I would like to specifically tell the European Commission that if we must fight for Ukraine and our basic principles in Europe through arbitration, then we will spare no effort to fight, even though this is not what we want."
The report pointed out that earlier there were reports that if Poland extends the import ban on Ukrainian grains after September 15th, Ukraine plans to file a lawsuit at the World Trade Organization. Ukraine pointed out that Kiev has "great respect and gratitude" towards Warsaw, but still has to fight this lawsuit.
