On May 12, the award ceremony for the first national college student career planning competition finals was held at Fudan University. This competition is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is the first specialized competition in China with the goal of promoting high-quality and full employment of college students. Since the competition was launched in August 2023, teachers and students from universities across the country have actively participated. According to statistics, a total of 9.52 million students have registered, covering 2,740 colleges and universities, accounting for 98.6% of the total number of ordinary colleges and universities in the country.

The competition has a three-level competition system of branch competition, provincial competition and national finals. It has a growth track for middle and low-level students, an employment track for senior students, and a teaching track for college student career development and employment guidance courses for college employment guidance teachers. Each track has a higher education group and a vocational education group. After fierce competition, more than 600 college students and more than 80 teachers advanced to the finals.

The first National College Student Career Planning Competition adopts the overall design of "concurrent activities with the main event". According to the overall arrangement of the competition, various universities in various places will cooperate with the main competition to carry out concurrent activities such as job fairs and career experience camps to achieve the integration and promotion of the competition and employment services. According to statistics, a total of 81,700 employment guidance and campus recruitment activities have been held, with 8.85 million participants, and more than one million positions provided, effectively connecting the talent supply and demand market.

Participating students said that the competition not only provided them with a stage to showcase themselves, but also provided them with a platform to improve their abilities.
