This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. On the occasion of Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to China, a president of a prestigious Russian university awarded by Putin signed a contract with a university in Shanghai, China, to build a joint studio to carry out research on Arctic issues and other issues.
It is reported that the East China Normal University-European University of St. Petersburg, Russia, joint studio for Eurasian studies was announced in Shanghai. On the 15th, Academician Qian Xuhong, President of East China Normal University, reached an agreement with Volkov Vadim, President of the visiting European University in St. Petersburg, Russia, and presented him with the "Collected Works of Vladimir Putin" compiled by East China Normal University.
According to the agreement, the two parties will use Eurasian joint research as an entry point to expand the areas of cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities and scientific research institutions. By cooperating in various scientific research activities and deeply participating in international dialogue, in addition to Arctic issues, we also conduct joint research in the fields of energy and geopolitics, Russian history, China's development model and policies, and Chinese education and culture. At the same time, the two universities jointly cultivate innovative scientific research talents, strengthen exchanges between teachers and students, and build an open innovation ecosystem with global competitiveness.
Shanghai and St. Petersburg established sister cities in December 1988. Volkov Vadim said that the European University of St. Petersburg is known as "the most European Russian university" and has a world-leading position in the fields of history, sociology, political science and anthropology.
