There are rare treasures! Exhibition of fine Song porcelain from Le Kiln will be launched
Happiness comes to Shanghai and rushes to the mountains and seas. Thousands of years ago, Le Kiln porcelain was sold overseas from the Qinglong Port Wharf in Shanghai. Thousands of years later, the sauce-glazed porcelain pieces excavated from the Qinglong Town site have awakened the memory of the close connection between Shanghai and Ming Dynasty.
On May 16, "Porcelain is the Mountain and the Sea - An Exhibition of Fine Song Porcelain from Le Kiln" was opened at the China Securities Museum. It is a clever combination of Millennium Song Porcelain from Le Kiln and century-old architecture. It is also a wonderful collision between Western Fujian culture and Shanghai style culture.
This exhibition focuses on Jiangle Kiln ceramics from the Song Dynasty, which reflects the exquisite porcelain making technology and simple artistic style. It is a grand presentation of the exquisite style of Song Dynasty porcelain from Jiangle Kiln. The exhibits include rare treasures such as "Celadon Glazed Lotus Pattern Phoenix Head Pot", "Tiger-shaped Mat Zhen" and "Lotus Heart Table".
It is understood that Jiangle is located in the mountainous area in the northwest of Fujian Province, with beautiful mountains and clear waters and pleasant scenery. Emperor Wu Jing of the Three Kingdoms established the county in the third year of Yong'an. It is one of the earliest ancient counties in Fujian Province. It has a long history of humanities and is known as the "City of Culture".
From 2016 to 2018, the Fujian Provincial Institute of Archaeology and the Jiangle County Museum conducted systematic archaeological excavations at the Song Dynasty kiln site in Jiangle, and unearthed a large number of exquisite ceramic specimens. It can be seen that the kiln industry in the Jiangle area during the Song Dynasty was prosperous, with superb porcelain making technology and various product types. Its richness, fine porcelain making technology and unique style show the beauty of Jiangle kiln ceramics in the Song Dynasty.
Among them, the phoenix head pot is also known as "Tianji Pot" and "Suzaku Pot". It is named after the phoenix head carved between the mouth and neck. The phoenix-headed pots in this exhibition are upright and elegant in shape, with a lustrous and natural glaze color. The phoenix head is sculpted with vitality, and its eyebrows and eyes are dotted with brown, making it appear more lifelike. The abdomen is decorated with embossed lotus patterns with exquisite carving craftsmanship. It resembles the feathers of a phoenix, as if it is about to flutter its wings, reflecting its extraordinary temperament. This phoenix-headed pot is extremely rare in the Jiangle kiln of the Song Dynasty. It is also the most exquisite one among the phoenix-headed pots discovered at home and abroad.
On the same day, the Hongkou District Culture and Tourism Bureau of Shanghai and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Jiangle County, Sanming City, Fujian Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement to further deepen the co-construction and cooperation of the cultural and tourism industries of the two places and promote the common development of the cultural and tourism industries of the two places. Promote the two parties to achieve significant results in cultural heritage exchanges, industrial integration of cultural tourism projects, promotion of cultural tourism resources and projects, mutual promotion of cultural tourism source markets, and joint construction of industrial cooperation platforms to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. At the same time, in conjunction with the International Museum Day on May 18, the four major memorial halls of the Communist Party of China signed an inter-museum cooperation agreement with the Jiangle County Museum, aiming to promote the memorial hall to play a role as a center for party history learning and education, inherit the red gene, and better utilize the museum’s education functions to practice the museum’s purpose of serving society.
