On September 18, the Changhai Road Street Veterans Service Station in Yangpu District and Huimin Primary School jointly held the "September 18" commemoration event with the theme of "Never forget the national humiliation, and make the country strong with me", aiming to let the veterans and children recall history together, inspire patriotic enthusiasm, and pass on the red gene. The "Changhai Road Street Patriotism Education Base" was unveiled, and the Changhai soldier branch secretary was awarded the school's ideological and political instructor appointment letter.
At the event, the veteran Yan Xing Chang Hai Bing Branch Secretary Studio brought a passionate poetry recitation. They used sincere emotions and heroic language to convey their love and loyalty to the motherland, allowing the children to feel the noble qualities and patriotic feelings of retired soldiers. Under the national flag, veteran Zhang Zhugen, with his profound theoretical literacy and rich life experience, deeply analyzed historical lessons, and encouraged everyone to remember history, not forget national humiliation, and bravely shoulder the mission of strengthening the country.
At the end of the event, all participants watched the "September 18th" photo exhibition and visited the National Experience Hall, reviewing that period of history together. Retired veterans had in-depth exchanges with student representatives, allowing the children to fully understand national defense and military knowledge, feel the country's development process, and guide them to establish lofty ideals from an early age.
Bao Ruifeng, a primary school student in Class 2, Grade 3, told reporters that his mother is currently participating in the medical support service for the reinforcement troops stationed on a reef in the South China Sea. This activity reminded him of his mother in white clothes, who is like a soldier in white armor. "As a Young Pioneer, I must study harder, keep fit, acquire skills, and build our motherland when I grow up."
Fan Ying, director of the administrative office of Huimin Primary School, said that this activity was jointly organized through the collaborative empowerment of "home, school, and community", with the community providing veterans' resources, and jointly holding a vivid patriotism education class, aiming to inspire the children's patriotism and cultivate more socialist builders and successors with ideals, morality, culture, and discipline for the country. The students of Huimin Primary School are basically children of surrounding residents, and they often hold activities through the "home, school, and community" linkage mechanism, such as regularly organizing Lei Feng activities in the community, holding "Innovation House" science education activities with the help of community resources, etc., so that all parties can benefit.
