This month-long event will amaze the world with the colorful, prosperous and fashionable night view of Shanghai.

The first Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival opened on September 19 and will be held until October 18. On September 18, a reporter from Jiefang Daily and Shangguan News visited the main venue at the Shanghai Exhibition Center and unveiled the mystery of many attractions in advance.

The first Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival adheres to the concept of "internationalization, specialization, popularization and industrialization", among which internationalization is the first. The architectural projection show of Shanghai Exhibition Center well interprets internationalization. From September 19 to September 27, this will be one of the biggest highlights of this Light and Shadow Festival.

"The first Shanghai International Light Festival has received great attention from international professional organizations and full support from all sectors of society." Wang Hui, director of the Landscape Management Department of the Shanghai Municipal Greening and Beautification Administration, introduced that the International Illumination Commission and the International Light Cities Association, authoritative organizations in the international lighting industry, are the academic guidance units of this Light Festival. There are 8 international experts from 5 countries on the expert committee, and 64 international artists from 12 countries and regions have participated in the global work collection activity of this Light Festival.

Following Wang Hui, the reporter spent more than two hours watching the five highlights of the main venue of the Light and Shadow Festival one by one. They are concentrated in the central, north, south, west and east areas of the Shanghai Exhibition Center.

The middle finger refers to the Preface Hall, where there is a dome light show with the theme of "The Realm of Lights". Advanced projection equipment casts brilliant light on the dome without leaving any trace, sometimes bursting out colorful fireworks, sometimes like a dreamy kaleidoscope, and sometimes outlining a deep cosmic vortex. This light show has two chapters, each lasting 1 minute, which makes people excited and curious about what surprises will be hidden in other areas of the main venue.

North refers to the central hall, where an immersive naked-eye 3D dome projection show is played in a loop, with the theme of "Eternal Shine of Light and Shadow", sometimes in two versions, one lasting 5 minutes and the other 3 minutes.

Following the invisible protagonist named "Messenger of Light", citizens and tourists will deeply feel the profound heritage of Shanghai's Shanghai culture, red culture, traditional culture and the cutting-edge pulse of fashion culture. It will start with a tour of the underwater world in a transparent submarine, and finally follow Chang'e 6 to land on the back of the moon, witnessing the unique charm of Shanghai as an international economic, financial, trade, shipping and technological innovation center.

South refers to the South Square, where the main projection show of this Light and Shadow Festival will be staged. It is also a unique neoclassical architectural projection show with the theme of "Exploring the Realm of Time and Space, Blooming the Beauty of Light and Shadow" and lasts for 4 minutes. An AI robot named "Xiao P" is the protagonist. With a yearning for human art, it shuttles through different light and shadow spaces to absorb "light energy", allowing citizens and tourists who "travel" with it to feel the cultural heritage and innovative charm of Shanghai.

In addition to the magnificent main projection show, there is another theme projection show and several special projection shows. They come from many countries, including specially invited works by famous domestic and foreign light and shadow artists, and 6 works selected from around the world. For example, "Shining Style" co-created by Spanish artist studio VPM and Chinese artists, "Five Stars Shining Future" created by American Bipu, and "Future Relics" series provided by Tiantu Wanjing and Ahnheng Group.

After nightfall, they use light, shadow and music to "play" a glittering and colorful movement on the buildings. Each show lasts up to 13 minutes. It is a performance that citizens and tourists cannot miss, as it is both large, satisfying and exquisite.

"The main building and the corridors on both sides of the South Plaza of Shanghai Exhibition Center are the 'curtains', with an actual projection area of more than 4,400 square meters and an image resolution of 20K. You should know that the resolution of IMAX theaters when showing films is only 6K, which is close to the limit of commercial projection," said Tang Hao, general manager of Shanghai Huanwei Digital Creative Technology Co., Ltd. Whether it is the actual projection area, the complexity of the projection building structure, or the image resolution, it is in a leading position in the world and is expected to impact the scale of the largest single outdoor immersive projection show in China. "In the South Plaza alone, 30 world-class high-definition engineering laser projectors have been invested, which is rare in the industry."

West refers to West Pavilion 1 and West Garden. West Pavilion 1 hosts the Landscape Lighting Achievement Exhibition and the Global Landscape Lighting Industry Exhibition, which adopts a "down-to-earth" exhibition method, focusing on an approachable and artistic style. Even citizens and tourists who are completely unfamiliar with the professional knowledge and industry of landscape lighting can appreciate it without any barriers. West Garden is the "Shining Jing'an" light and shadow garden carefully created by Jing'an District.

"The main venue of the Shanghai International Light Festival will be open to the public from September 21 to September 27, and the duration is significantly longer than the time open to professional audiences. This requires us to constantly think about what form of expression can arouse the interest of ordinary people." Mao Cheng, vice president of the Digital Entertainment Division of Shanghai Roman Technology Co., Ltd., said that the first Shanghai International Light Festival will be a festival shared by all city residents, just like other prestigious city light art festivals around the world.

East refers to the East Square and East Garden. The East Square exhibits 9 light and shadow art installations created by domestic and foreign artists, emphasizing interactivity and public friendliness, using high-efficiency energy-saving light sources, and presenting rich and unique perspectives of light and shadow art content. The East Garden is the "Spectrum Art Collection" dream garden specially created by Xuhui District.

Laurent Brun from Lyon, France, is an electronic engineer specializing in video game design. He brought his famous work, which he collaborated with another Monaco artist, from France and redesigned and adjusted it for the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival, naming it "Shanghai Dream".

This curious light and shadow art installation on the East Square consists of 10 colorful spheres. When the audience blows into the microphone, the intelligent system will sense the force and frequency of the blowing and convert it into a "customized" light and shadow effect for the audience. The reporter tried to blow a breath, and the colorful lamp beads on the spheres showed light and shadow waves mainly in red, yellow, blue and other colors from near to far.

"This idea came from a dream of mine. In the dream, I blew air at a dandelion, and the dandelion floated away with the wind, presenting colorful changes in color." Laurent Brun said that this installation was first displayed at the "Sleepless Night" event in Paris in 2008. It combines exquisite elegance with interactive fun and was widely praised. He is willing to bring it to Shanghai across a thousand miles.

"I have never been to Shanghai, but traveling back and forth between China and France in the past two or three weeks to polish my work has made me feel very fond of this place. It is a city full of creativity and vitality." Laurent Brun said, "Shanghai Dream" symbolizes the power that the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival wants to convey to everyone, a power full of hope and dreams.

Shanghai is a city with a lighting culture and the birthplace of domestic landscape lighting construction. It has always been working hard to tap the energy-saving and emission-reduction potential of landscape lighting.

Data provided by Shanghai's greening and urban appearance department show that as of now, the total rated installed power of Shanghai's landscape lighting is about 101,400 kilowatts, the total rated power of landscape lighting in the Bund, North Bund, and Lujiazui areas is about 18,100 kilowatts, and the utilization rate of LED lamps has reached 96%.

This year's Light and Shadow Festival is also full of green and environmentally friendly elements.

Explore the first Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival, a grand event that empowers a city

As of July 10 this year, Shanghai's global collection activity received a total of 213 light and shadow art installation works. After selection, 30 works were shortlisted to become one of the protagonists of the first Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival, including works by some world-renowned light and shadow art experts.

"It must be beautiful and environmentally friendly. This was our clear requirement when we solicited works from around the world." Yuan Qiao, executive director of the Expert Committee of the Shanghai Illuminating Society, admitted that most "exhibition-type" light and shadow art installations were designed with only factors such as convenience for shipment and display in mind, and are fragile and short-lived. However, the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival is different. Ten of the 30 light and shadow art installations will be transferred to branch venues after the festival, and those in good condition will be permanent installations in public spaces and continue to shine.

For example, the "Brilliant City" jointly created by Chinese and French artists embodies the concept of ecological environmental protection and sustainable development. After the main venue, it will be moved to the Changning branch venue for exhibition. The Lingang New Area's work "Dreaming of the Core" embodies the theme of "Young City, City of Young People" and will be exhibited at the Lingang New Area branch venue. The works of Huangpu District are also expected to participate in the Yuyuan Lantern Festival next year.

"What a beautiful jasmine flower..." At the Global Landscape Lighting Industry Exhibition in West Hall 1, KUMO Architects' principal, Tsuyoshi Iijima, used drumsticks to hit 50 glass tubes of different lengths, and the familiar melody made people hum along. At the same time, along with the frequency and weight of the "drum beats", the LED lamp posts built into the glass tubes would respond in different shades. This work, called "First Encounter with Light", aims to reintroduce the familiar artificial light source to people, and recall the feeling of seeing light for the first time.

This light and shadow art installation is also a representative of the concept of environmental protection. Before being exhibited in Shanghai, it was a creative percussion instrument with mud inside, or an avant-garde tea room enclosure.

At the landscape lighting exhibition in the West Hall 1, "Cheers to Allah" is a check-in point with multiple empty wine bottles hanging. The amazing thing is that mini solar devices are installed on the corks on the top of these empty wine bottles. The bottles that "recharge" during the day are lit up at night, creating a landscape that does not consume any electricity.

At the expert seminar on September 20, the concept of sustainable lighting development will be one of the three major report themes. Global experts will discuss the future of the low-carbon lighting industry while paying attention to the art of landscape lighting and promoting the night economy.

Light and shadow art is derived from lighting devices and is a "down-to-earth" art.

"We should not only see the excitement, but also the tricks." Miao Jun, the second-level inspector of the Shanghai Greening and Beautification Bureau, emphasized that the quality of the Shanghai International Light Festival should not only be judged by its popularity, but also by what it can bring to the city. The light festivals in cities such as Lyon, Sydney, and Tokyo all show the world the city's strong charm and creativity by integrating culture and art, and drive the development of the local cultural tourism consumption market and related industries.

In the West Hall 1 of the Shanghai Exhibition Center, 9 of the 19 works brought by 26 well-known domestic and foreign companies are world premieres, showcasing the lighting industry's advanced products, technologies, materials and creativity, which will "illuminate" the future of Shanghai's landscape lighting industry.

The "Starry Sky Dream" designed by Signify is decorated with thousands of light beads on the top of the dark room, and the artificial intelligence system will randomly generate the "starry sky". Every time you enter the dark room and look up, the "starry sky" you see is different. "This artificial intelligence system will empower urban landscape lights, make the display content more possible, enrich the charm of landscape lights and extend their lifespan." Mao Cheng said.

The "Sand and Dust Realm" designed by Xi'an Condensation Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. uses the fine sand sprinkled by the staff as a curtain, and utilizes the scattering of light caused by tiny particles in the air to make the laser that was originally invisible in the clean space appear, creating a scene in itself.

Technician Li Xiang told reporters that this technology has been used in "light and shadow flash mob" activities in some cities. For example, in foggy weather, the sky naturally becomes a "sky curtain" on which charming auroras can be "painted" with lasers.

Shenzhen Kangshuozhan Electronics Co., Ltd. displayed an immersive ball screen. Standing one or two meters in front of the center of the screen, the high-definition immersive viewing experience made citizens and tourists feel as if they had traveled into the cartoon world of the Monkey King Sun Wukong.

According to engineers, this dome screen has been completely domestically produced, and the lateral and longitudinal curvature of the screen has reached the industry's advanced level. It has very broad business prospects in the entertainment industry represented by theme parks.

The first Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival will also be a grand event that breaks through circles. It will link up with the "Shanghai Summer" International Consumption Season, the 35th Shanghai Tourism Festival, the World Design Capital Conference, Shanghai Fashion Week, the Ancient Egyptian Civilization Exhibition, the International Electronic Music Festival and other seasonal theme activities. It is a truly grand event that allows the entire city and related industries to participate in the celebration.

Liu Min, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, introduced that during the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival, Shanghai's commercial sector will launch three major business district linkage activities, namely "Discounts for Light and Shadow Tickets", "Business District Light and Shadow Art Shows", and "Lighting up the Brilliant Night Shanghai", to amplify the "ticket economy" effect of the Light and Shadow Festival.

This year's Shanghai Nightlife Festival will be extended to September for the first time, and a number of nighttime consumption activities will be launched in conjunction with the Light and Shadow Festival. For example, the Shanghai Nightlife Festival, Shanghai Drama Art Center, and Shanghai Contemporary Drama Festival jointly launched the "Drama at Night" theme event, and linked up with the Anfu Road, Wuyuan Road, Yongfu Road and other neighborhoods around the Shanghai Drama Art Center to launch theater ticket consumption discounts.

In the past few days, some careful citizens have discovered that the pedestrian space on the Nanjing West Road side of the Shanghai Exhibition Center has become much more spacious and transparent, because the second phase of the Shanghai Exhibition Center green landscape improvement project launched in June this year has been basically completed. The original 9 advertising light boxes of 3 meters high and 8 meters wide have been reduced to 7, the spacing between the light boxes has been increased, and they have been retreated 3.5 meters into the compound; the green landscape along the street has been transformed and upgraded, and the original green fence has been replaced with a hidden fence.

As the main venue of the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival, more citizens and tourists will approach and enter the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The person in charge of Shanghai Exhibition Center Co., Ltd. said that this high-quality urban public space with a warm environment for reading, strolling, and resting will fully demonstrate the significance of the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival to the city: the city and life will be better because of it.

What else can I rely on for growing vegetables?, Agricultural Experiment of a Group of Young People: Lettuce without Heaven or Earth | Physical Strength | Agriculture

More than 50 years ago, in the tidal flat wasteland of Chongming Island, tens of thousands of people, with super physical strength and perseverance, reclaimed land to solve the problem of eating and eating vegetables for the people of Shanghai. Time rotation, in the same piece of land, a new round of agriculture "speed and passion" is happening. A group of young people used nearly 50 cubic meters of containers as a testing ground to compete for efficiency and operation by using "new agricultural tools" and "new agricultural materials" such as computers, big data and AI control in the first completely artificial light plant factory planting competition in China. How to get rid of relying on the sky for food, how to improve the market rate of crops ...... Although a game has come to an end, the exchange and collision of a new generation of farmers will continue. They are trying to answer, the future of China's agricultural modernization. Transforming sorted garbage into treasure in front of children and allowing them to experience garbage classification firsthand and gain recognition is an effective way to promote garbage classification on campus. After nearly 4 years of practice, Shanghai Qibao Experimental Primary School has released a series of garbage classification standards today. This is the first campus garbage classification standard system released by schools in China. The correct classification includes guidelines for the configuration of recyclable site facilities, guidelines for setting "green points" for garbage classification, guidelines for rewarding and redeeming garbage classification points, guidelines for common recyclables/hazardous waste/dry waste disposal on campus, design guidelines for garbage classification education courses for lower/higher grades, and evaluation guidelines for campus garbage classification learning. These standards have been implemented in Qibao Experimental Primary School for many years
