Shanghai launches a comprehensive "National Day" patriotic health campaign today
The reporter learned from the Municipal Health and Sanitation Office that in order to effectively prevent and control dengue fever and other vector-borne infectious diseases and create a clean, orderly, healthy and civilized National Day holiday environment, the city will comprehensively launch the "Welcome National Day" patriotic health special action from today to the 28th. By focusing on mosquito prevention and control, focusing on sanitary environment, focusing on vector science popularization, and focusing on prevention and control quality, we will do our best to protect the health of citizens and welcome a happy and beautiful National Day holiday together.
It is reported that the "National Day" patriotic health special action focuses on "four focuses": First, focus on mosquito prevention and control, and carry out a round of concentrated prevention and control actions. At present, the city's climate is hot and rainy, and mosquitoes and other vectors have entered the peak period of activity. The health and sanitation departments of each district will organize professional prevention and control personnel to carry out mosquito and fly elimination in key places such as areas with high mosquito density reported by citizens and crowd gathering activities; carry out environmental governance after the rain, clear the stagnant water environment, and use pesticides to control the breeding of mosquito larvae in underground stagnant water environments that cannot be cleared; mobilize enthusiastic citizens to conduct inspections on the prevention and control of public environments in the community, and promptly feedback and rectify the problems found through the information system, and urge professional prevention and control agencies to improve the effectiveness of vector control; each district guides the streets and towns to implement local management responsibilities and respond to mosquito emergency disposal in a timely manner. Take multiple measures to control the density of mosquitoes and cut off the transmission routes of vector-borne infectious diseases such as dengue fever.
Second, we will focus on the sanitary environment and carry out a sanitation cleaning campaign. Relying on the grassroots patriotic health organization network, we will comprehensively improve the environment and remove sanitary dead corners in key places such as farmers' markets, public toilets, centralized collection points for domestic waste, old residential areas, small restaurants, and public green spaces. We will seal and cover garbage collection containers, clear garbage every day, clean up small stagnant water, dredge pipes and ditches, put an end to random dumping, random stacking, and remove mosquito and other vector-borne organisms. At the same time, we will encourage residents to carry out household sanitation cleaning, turn over pots and cans, remove indoor and courtyard stagnant water, and reduce mosquito breeding.
The third is to focus on disease vector science and hold a mosquito control science contest. The Municipal Health Promotion Office and the Municipal Health Promotion Center will hold a mosquito control science contest on the "Shanghai Xiaokang" public account from September 24 to 28. All districts will actively mobilize and encourage citizens to participate in this competition, popularize key knowledge points such as mosquito hazards, ecological habits, control methods, and personal protection in an entertaining way, and enhance social participation and public awareness of prevention.
Fourth, focus on the quality of prevention and control, and conduct an assessment of the density control of vectors. According to the city's implementation plan for the assessment of the density control level of vectors, the Municipal Health and Sanitation Office and the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention will launch this year's district-level on-site assessment of the density control level of vectors after the Mid-Autumn Festival. The municipal and district centers for disease control and prevention and third-party institutions will conduct assessments on the breeding environment of vectors, the construction of protective facilities, the invasion of vectors, and the use of chemical drugs in the form of spot checks, so as to scientifically guide and promote the management and disposal of vector control work in various streets and towns.
