According to incomplete statistics, since the reform and opening up, the cumulative number of Chinese scholars funded by the Lei Shide Fund has reached thousands. In 1988, Jiang Ming, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Fudan University, received funding from the Lei Shide Fund and went to the University of York in the UK to conduct collaborative research. During the roundtable forum, Academician Jiang Ming shared his experience of benefiting from the Lei Shide Fund and returning to serve his country after completing his studies.
