Jury members in US President Biden's son's illegal gun possession case have been selected to be illegal|Hunter Biden|Biden
U.S. District Judge Noreka of Delaware announced on the 3rd local time that the jury members in the illegal gun possession case of Hunter Biden, the son of U.S. President Biden, have been selected.
The selection includes 12 jury members and 4 alternate members, including 10 women and 6 men. These people swore an oath that day to participate in the entire trial "fairly and without bias."
According to US media reports, many members of the Biden family, including Hunter Biden and first lady Jill Biden, were also present during the jury selection process that day.
According to reports, all juror candidates accepted questionnaires, including their familiarity with the case, attitudes towards gun issues and whether relatives have substance abuse problems. After questionnaires and interviews, 12 jurors and 4 alternates were finally selected.
U.S. President Biden issued a statement that day, saying, "I am a president and a father. Jill and I love our son and he makes us proud."
In September last year, Hunter Biden was indicted for illegal gun possession. Court documents show that Hunter Biden faces three counts related to purchasing a gun while abusing drugs, two of which are related to Hunter Biden concealing that he was a drug addict when filling out a gun purchase form in October 2018. Related; another count was purchasing a firearm while using an addictive drug.
According to U.S. law, relevant crimes are punishable by up to 25 years in prison and a fine of $750,000.
In addition to the illegal gun possession case, Hunter Biden was also sued over tax issues in December last year.
