In the domestically produced film "Just Get Home", which showcases the inspirational theme of young people in the new era, three young people escape from the bustling metropolis and embark on their e-commerce entrepreneurial dreams together in Yunnan's millennium old village. They carefully prepare a local coffee that is known as being able to drink the "taste of distant mountains and forests" and successfully promote it to the world.
This movie is not entirely fictional. The English name of the film is "Coffee or Tea" and it was set in the ancient tea forest of Jingmai Mountain in Pu'er, Yunnan. In recent years, domestic coffee has become a new hot spot in consumption, and multiple Yunnan coffee products have sparked popularity. Yunnan Province, known for its ancient tea horse road, has become the largest coffee producing area and highest yield in China. Coffee and tea, two cultures intersect here, and the unique coffee flavor of "strong but not bitter, fragrant but not strong, and slightly fruity" touches the taste buds of the world.
Mountains and seas are connected, Shenqing helps purchase. From July 20th to 23rd, the 6th Shanghai Special Products Exhibition and Sales Fair will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Small coffee beans connect Shanghai and Yunnan together
On May 20th, during the 2023 Shanghai Coffee Culture Week, the Yunnan Haowu Museum next to Longteng Avenue in Xuhui District, Shanghai opened, serving as a matchmaker and platform for counties and prefectures in Yunnan to participate in the Shanghai Coffee Culture Festival.
In fact, Yunnan coffee has long been highly sought after in Shanghai.
Located in Pu'er City, southwestern Yunnan Province, the Tropic of Cancer passes through the area, with a gentle breeze brushing over the mountains. Pu'er is one of the earliest coffee growing places in Asia and also the golden planting belt for Arabica coffee beans. With the rise of domestic coffee in recent years, "Puer" is not only the exclusive term for Pu'er tea, but also increasingly appearing in the vision of global coffee enthusiasts. According to the registration data of the business license of the Market Supervision Bureau of Simao District, Pu'er City, the number of coffee shops in Simao District has increased from 25 in 2020 to over 150 in 2023. In just a few years, coffee culture has gradually integrated into people's lives and become a window for people to understand Pu'er.
In 2021, through the efforts of Shanghai's aid to Yunnan, the China Poverty Alleviation Foundation, Starbucks Coffee Company, and Tongji Planning Institute worked together to build a "Shared Value Beautiful Star Village" rural revitalization demonstration site project for cultural, tourism, and agricultural integration in Shanghai and Yunnan through a joint effort of 15 million yuan from Shanghai's aid to Yunnan, as well as donations from enterprises and public welfare organizations.
At present, the planting area of Pu'er coffee has reached 680000 mu, with a yield of 54000 tons and a comprehensive output value of 3.9 billion yuan, benefiting more than 250000 coffee farmers and increasing their per capita income by 3836 yuan. In 2021, Pu'er coffee was approved for national geographical indication product protection. Pu'er has also become the most concentrated place for coffee research, teaching, and service support institutions in China. The National Key Laboratory of Coffee, Yunnan Small Grain Coffee Breeding Base of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Yunnan International Coffee Trading Center have successively settled in Pu'er, providing comprehensive service support for the development of the coffee industry.
Baoshan City, also located in the southwest of Yunnan, is one of the top ten coffee producing areas in Yunnan. The dry and hot valley formed by the intersection of Gaoligong Mountain and Biluo Snow Mountain makes it an excellent coffee plantation, nourishing the world's top "Baoshan small grain coffee". In 2012, Biton Coffee was founded in Baoshan. One Leaf Becomes One Industry, Cloud Tea Revitalizes Life
Tea originated in China and is popular around the world. As one of the core birthplaces of tea trees in the world, Yunnan now has an annual comprehensive tea production value of over 100 billion yuan. On this small leaf, there is a clear thread of rural revitalization in China, and it is also full of people's expectations for a better life.
Pu'er tea, which has a history of over a thousand years in tea making, carries diverse ethnic cultures and rich historical heritage. Pu'er tea can be divided into raw tea and ripe tea through different processing techniques. At present, Pu'er tea is mainly distributed in four major production areas: Lincang, Baoshan, Pu'er, and Xishuangbanna. The different altitudes, geographical locations, and ecological environments of different production areas have created their unique flavor, becoming the business card of Yunnan Pu'er tea with "one mountain, one flavor".
Zhenyuan County in Pu'er City is also known as the "Hometown of the World's Wild Tea Tree King" due to the growth of over 2700 wild ancient tea trees in the area. Good tea is produced in the land of tea kings. Qianjiazhai Pu'er tea is characterized by excellent quality such as "shoot buds, purple tips, and rolled leaves", with a superior taste that is fragrant, smooth, and sweet. It is highly sought after by many Pu'er tea enthusiasts. There is a folk saying that "Banzhang is the king, Iceland is the queen, and Qianjiazhai is the master". The name "Qianjiazhai Master" is derived from Pu'er tea, which has been widely circulated.
In recent years, Shanghai's aid to Yunnan has continued to support the development of the tea industry in Zhenyuan County, constructing a number of tea industry supporting projects to improve the quality and efficiency of the "Qianjiazhai Ye" Pu'er tea in Zhenyuan. The project includes 17 initial tea processing plants and 1 tea refining workshop. Among them, the production workshop of the Qianjiazhai Ye Hao Pu'er Tea Refining and Processing Research and Development Center, which was assisted in construction, is the only designated processing plant for "Qianjiazhai Ye Hao" Pu'er tea, and also the largest, most advanced, and most automated modern tea processing plant in Zhenyuan. At present, Zhenyuan County has over 140000 acres of ecological tea gardens, and more than 260000 acres of wild and cultivated ancient tea communities. In 2022, the total tea production in the county was 6604.5 tons, with a total output value of 1.809 billion yuan. Tea has become a pillar industry for the economic development of the county.
During this exhibition, besides tasting high-quality Pu'er tea, citizens can also enjoy Yunnan Dianhong tea, which is also well-known both domestically and internationally. As one of the traditional famous teas in China, Dianhong tea is characterized by its reddish brown tea leaves and unique aroma. The appearance of tea presents a delicate flat shape, with bright colors and sometimes even golden bud tips. After brewing, the tea soup presents a bright red color, clear and translucent. The aroma of Dianhong tea is unique and rich, with a sweet aroma of flowers and molasses. In terms of taste, Dianhong tea has a mellow taste, with a soft sweetness and rich layering.
Fengqing County, Yunnan Province is located on the banks of the Lancang River and is known as the "hometown of Yunnan black tea in the world". There are currently over 30000 acres of wild ancient tea tree resources and 28000 acres of artificially cultivated ancient tea tree communities within the county. The "Jinxiu Tea Zun" located in Xiangzhujing, Xiaowan Town, the county has a tree age of 3200 years and is still lush, making it the oldest existing cultivated ancient tea tree.
In recent years, many explorations have been made in the local area to revitalize the "Fengqing Dianhong Tea" brand. In 2021, the local Fengqing Dianhong Tea Industry Alliance was officially established, and the drafting and formulation of eight standards, including the Fengqing Dianhong Tea Technical Standards, were carried out to enhance the binding force of production, processing, management and other processes. At the same time, Fengqing has also established a full chain organizational benefit connection mechanism of "industrial alliance+refined leader+initial production institute+cooperative+base+farmers", in order to stabilize the relationships between various links in the chain and establish a sense of community with a shared future for the Fengqing tea industry. In the spring tea season of 2022, the county achieved a total dry tea production of 22400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%, and the average income of tea farmers was 8313 yuan, an increase of 23%, forming a win-win pattern of tea increment, tea farmer income increase, and tea enterprise development.
The only difference from tea to tea industry is the active transformation of the entire chain development of Yunnan's tea industry.
In February this year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Yunnan Province and five other departments jointly released the "Three Year Action Plan for High Quality Development of Yunnan's Tea Industry". It is expected that by 2025, the planting area and yield of Yunnan's tea will remain stable at around 7.4 million mu and 500000 tons, respectively, maintaining the first place in the country in terms of organic certified tea plantation area and tea product quantity. Efforts will be made to double the output value of the entire industry chain, and move from a "tea industry major province" to a "tea industry strong province". In addition, Yunnan will also carry out efforts to promote and promote tea culture, promote the integration of tea and tourism, and use characteristic towns, beautiful villages, and tea plantations as carriers to integrate tea culture, develop "Tea+N" characteristic tea and tourism boutique routes, and promote the integration and development of the cloud tea industry and emerging formats.
