Today, the second round of cooperation agreement between the Hongqiao Branch of the Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Control Center's Visual Health Center was officially signed. Zou Haidong, director of the Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention Center, introduced that on the basis of strengthening the community's general practice, the cooperation between the two sides will be guided by health needs, combined with visual health management, and continue to explore beneficial ways to improve the comprehensive service level of "full profession integration" and "medical prevention integration" in the community. This will promote the sinking of community health service resources to service stations, residential communities, and households, so that the health needs of residents can be better met at their doorstep.
The Children's Health Management Studio of Lv Mingjie, a general practitioner and deputy chief pediatrician at the center, was officially established today. She introduced that as of December last year, the Children's Visual Health Management Center platform has conducted visual function assessments, developed personalized rehabilitation training plans, and rehabilitation services for 542 people, providing a total of 7903 rehabilitation project services. Through team building, we provide timely, convenient, continuous, full process, and efficient eye health management to children in our jurisdiction, and have received praise from community residents.
Nowadays, on the last Friday afternoon of each month, Xu Yan, the deputy chief physician of the Municipal Eye Prevention Center, will be sitting in Hongqiao for consultations. When a 4-year-old girl went to the pediatric department for treatment every day due to diarrhea, the doctor found that she had strabismus. In addition to treating the diarrhea, Xu Yan transferred the child to the city's eye prevention center through the green channel and provided treatment with glasses and eye covering. At the beginning, the treatment effect was not satisfactory, so they returned to the community visual rehabilitation center for rehabilitation training. After several courses of rehabilitation, the daily visual acuity improved to 0.5, and then transferred to the city's eye prevention center for strabismus correction surgery treatment. Nowadays, Tiantian's eye position is normal and his vision is gradually returning to normal.
"Over the past two years, many residents in our jurisdiction have received practical assistance through teaching and referral. Now, we have extended our service scope to a wider range of people." Wang Yongpeng, Deputy Director of the center, introduced that the key projects of the second round of cooperation are the construction of a visual health intelligent management center and the treatment of dry eye syndrome in the community. "In the next step, we will introduce artificial intelligence vision screening, fundus photography and other projects to guide residents to self screen in the hospital. Relevant data will also be shared with the city's eye prevention center. Through homogeneous examination services, we will make up for the shortage of professional and technical personnel in the community, and provide residents with readily accessible services."
Lv Mingjie mentioned that in recent years, residents who come to prepare eye drops and artificial tears due to dry eye symptoms have often been seen in general practice and ophthalmology clinics. "The monthly quantity can reach three digits, which has caught our attention. It is reported that inflammation of the eyes, underlying diseases, and excessive eye fatigue can all lead to dry eye syndrome." We will intervene and treat dry eye syndrome for different causes, combined with medication and rehabilitation therapy, to help more working people alleviate eye discomfort and provide them with a more enjoyable experience of community health services. "
In addition, the center will continue to carry out eye health science popularization intervention projects for families of preschool children aged 4 to 6, and promote intervention on the rate of visual impairment in adolescents and children by promoting science popularization content, vision screening, etc. Director Qian Ning of the center stated that in the second round of cooperation to improve service level and expand service population, he hopes to use the support and guidance of the Municipal Eye Prevention Center to solidly improve technology, truly diversify the responsibilities of "health gatekeepers", and actively build the Changning community health reform brand.
