During the Dragon Boat Festival, the Shanghai Ethnic Orchestra launched two creative performances in a row. On June 21st, the Dragon Boat Festival themed concert "Mountains and Rivers, Autumn Moon, An Ge" was held at Jaguar Shanghai Symphony Hall. On June 22nd, the band's original art education brand "The Twelve Zodiac Signs in Chinese Music", which took two years of polishing and special planning, will make its debut at the Roewe Shanghai Children's Art Theater. The "Twelve Zodiac Signs" will play, play, and sing, opening the door to Chinese music for children.
The theme concert of "Mountains and Rivers, Autumn Moon, An Ge" for the Dragon Boat Festival is directed by Peng Fei, the resident conductor of the Shanghai Ethnic Orchestra. She said, "Mountains and rivers, autumn moon, and An Ge reflect the spiritual and emotional world of the Chinese people. They not only embody the poetry of literati, the romance of poets, but also the patriotism. During the Dragon Boat Festival, let's enter a rich world of music and culture with Chinese music."
Suona performers Jiang Feng and Yan Jinlong from the orchestra brought a double tube concerto version of "The Soul of Mountains and Rivers", telling the story of the heaviness and grandeur of mountains and rivers. "Autumn Lake and Moonlit Night" is performed by Jin Kai, the chief voice of the flute, and the work is based on the famous poem "Nian Nu Jiao: Passing through Dongting" by patriotic poet Zhang Xiaoxiang of the Southern Song Dynasty. The song "An Ge" brought by guzheng performer Lu Shasha is taken from the poem "An Ge in a relaxed and festive manner, advocated by Chen Yuse" in Qu Yuan's work "Nine Songs: Emperor Tai Yi", showcasing people's aspirations for a better life.
Hu Qin performer Lu Lu's "Maowusu Suixiang" and Yue Qin performer Yang Jing and Ma Linba performer Hu Jiaqian's "Caiyun Youyou" showcase the unique charm of ethnic music. Performers born in 1995, Li Chenxiao and Wang Chuqing, brought the dual Ruan version of "Cangjie" and the pipa player Liu Jia's performance of "Late Autumn", presenting the profound historical heritage of ethnic instruments. A series of contemporary folk music works such as "Winter Insects and Summer Grass" lead the audience to explore the cultural connotations behind traditional festivals and experience the diverse charm of Chinese music.
During the Spring Festival of the Year of the Rabbit, the Shanghai Ethnic Orchestra released a preview of the twelve zodiac characters in the Chinese music series "Hua Hao Yue Yuan", which received many likes and praise from audiences on new media platforms. There are many cartoon characters about the twelve zodiac signs, but there are not many zodiac signs that can play ethnic instruments. On June 22nd, the original art education brand of the band, "The Twelve Zodiac Signs in Chinese Music," was designed specifically for parent-child families. Twelve new folk music works based on the theme of the twelve zodiac signs, including "Tiger Drum Roaring in the Sky," "Monkey Fishing for Music," "Duiuqin Sheng," "Le Busi Mouse," "Mao Tu Appreciating Music," and "Yin Snake Coming Out of the Cave," will be presented to the audience.
Accompanied by music, multimedia visuals will present lively and adorable original ink and watercolor twelve zodiac characters - Rabbit Pipa, Niu Xiansheng, Long Dongchou, Monkey Lailuo, Pig Pangxian, Hu Yangyang, Maqin, Rat Xiaoxian, Tiger Dada, Yangqin Wang, Greedy Snake, and Chicken Love Ruan. Each zodiac character corresponds to a traditional ethnic instrument, blowing, pulling, playing, and playing, which is lifelike.
Every child has an innate zodiac sign, and the twelve animals are guardians and good friends who accompany the children as they grow up. The little rabbit plays the pipa, the little dog plays the yangqin, the little monkey plays the gong, and the little tiger plays the drum, making Chinese music full of childlike fun. In sync with the performance, the band also launched a series of peripheral cultural and creative products, including pig mouth cups, tote bags, notebooks, staff notebooks, three-dimensional hand torn bookmark books, stickers, aprons, tissue boxes, etc., which were loved by audiences of all sizes. Before the performance, categories such as notebooks and stickers were sold out, and the band had to urgently go to the warehouse to "restock".
From July 7th to August 5th, the Chinese style music scene "Sea Life Folk Music" will return to Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall. As the first domestic and even global ethnic music performance, "Sea Life Folk Music" has become a phenomenal original music brand through the first three rounds of performance practice, and its performance reputation continues to ferment, attracting many viewers to "second brush" and "third brush". At the end of the fourth round of performances, the Shanghai Ethnic Orchestra will have completed a total of 100 performances, setting a new record for Shanghai style folk music.
