In October 2021, an exciting news hit the internet - the quantum computing prototypes of "Jiuzhang No.2" and "Zuchongzhi No.2" were successfully launched. Its speed in handling specific problems is far faster than the current fastest supercomputer. This makes China the only country in the world to achieve the milestone of "quantum computing superiority" in both superconducting quantum and optical quantum systems.
"Jiuzhang No.2" and "Zuchongzhi No.2" were successfully developed by the University of Science and Technology of China in collaboration with the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other units.
