In the upcoming summer vacation, more sports competitions are waiting for students in Yangpu: from July to the end of this year, the Yangpu District Student Sunshine Sports League will also hold nearly 20 district level competition projects, providing students with a high-level competitive stage. Teenagers can find a stage to showcase themselves in various competitions, and also gain friendship and healthy growth through exciting competitions. It is expected that more than 10000 students will participate in the entire region.

At present, Yangpu District is accelerating the transformation from a "sports area" to a "sports strong area". In recent years, the education and sports departments of Yangpu District have organized and hosted various levels and types of youth sports events, established a segmented and cross regional youth sports event system, and organized intra school competitions, inter school competitions on weekends, and cross regional and national competitions during holidays. Targeting primary and secondary school students in the entire district, Yangpu District Education Bureau and Yangpu District Sports Bureau hold the Student Sunshine Sports League, aiming to deepen the integration of sports and education, discover and cultivate excellent sports reserve talents, promote the healthy growth of young people in the district, and continuously improve their level of competitive sports.

In the first half of this year, Yangpu District took the lead in swimming, foot fighter and basketball. Among them, the swimming competition was held in the Yangpu heated swimming pool. There were a total of professional and amateur groups. According to the latest swimming competition rules approved by the State Sports General Administration, each group and each event had an one-time final. There were 12 swimming events in the competition, and nearly 60 schools participated. The children chopped the waves and showed the elegant demeanor of the water athletes. The foot fighter competition held in the handball hall of the district junior sports school is also very hot. The competition is divided into men's and women's groups in the primary school group and men's and women's groups in the junior high school group. Nearly 120 students from 12 schools in the district participated, in the end, Huaide Road No.1 Primary School in Yangpu District of Shanghai won the first prize in District A of primary school women's group, Shanghai Conservatory of Music Experimental School won the first prize in District A of primary school men's group, Gongnong Xincun Primary School in Yangpu District of Shanghai won the first prize in District B of primary school women's group, and Shanghai City Light School won the first prize in junior high school women's group and junior high school men's group.

In the future, through a three-step approach of popularization, improvement, and selection, Shanghai will form a sports event system for the entire youth population, providing opportunities for different levels of youth sports enthusiasts, promoting the physical and mental health of young people and children, improving the skills of outstanding athletes, and helping Shanghai build a globally renowned sports city.

In recent years, Yangpu District has relied on the combination of sports and education to make long-term arrangements for youth sports work. For 25 consecutive years, the reserve talent transfer rate has ranked among the top in the city. After decades of cultivation, Yangpu has formed a comprehensive and well-balanced project layout, with more than 30 training programs including athletics, swimming, football, and 4 social cooperation programs including equestrian and golf. It has 3 national sports reserve talent bases, 2 municipal elite bases, 2 social training bases, 6 second tier sports teams, over 3800 athletes in training, and nearly 70 coaches.
